Who can be so damn stupid to WASTE Money on iTunes ?

When all The Music is available for free? Every single song you want, you get for free. Cant believe some people are so "ingenous" and "stupid" to WASTE money in iTunes.

Yeah, go along, and insult or quote with Naive caption Pictures.

But who can be so damn stupid to waste money on iTunes when everything is available for free???

chatcuties 01-11-2011 02:19 PM

Yea, why pay for porn, it's all available for free, you just have to look for it ...

byebye new porn ...

Same applies to music!

Why buy a car, when you can steal one ...

People who don't steal! Just because is available for free, doesn't mean it's legaly free. Some people don't like to steal. And if you enjoy the music, why not support the artists? Just sayin... you better not be on here crying about any tubes stealing your content. :2 cents:

Sarah_Jayne 01-11-2011 02:32 PM

Spotify changed the game for so many people I know that used to justify stealing music. When you can listen legally for free there becomes no real excuse.

David! 01-11-2011 02:33 PM

I have a lot of trouble convincing people I know that downloading free music is the same as shoplifting in a supermarket, the only difference is that you more likely to get caught in a supermarket.

If the trend of illegally downloading music on the internet does not stop, then a lot of artist will just cease to exist. It is the same for movies and for porn since this is an adult board.

Software piracy is a little harder for the common Joe since they have to not only download a copy of the software they want but also find a crack code. Music, porn, movies are much simpler...

alexchechs 01-11-2011 02:35 PM

I prefer to get my music to iTunes and give the artists the money they deserve. Plus half the bands that I like aren't going to be one very torrent site. Maybe if I wanted to download 25 different remixes of "Who Let The Dogs Out" I would be fine without iTunes

VikingMan 01-11-2011 02:36 PM

I want to make sure certain talented but mostly unknown artists can make a living. And I am not talking about Black Eyed Peas type of garbage music:2 cents:

that's actually a fallacy, especially because almost all musicians make about 95% or their money from touring and concerts and t-shirt sales etc...

record company gets the rest.

I'm not using this as an argument to support piracy, because I obviously don't support it, but i'm just saying that they used this argument back when they started playing popular music on the radio originally too and it was not true, it actually helped sales.

2MuchMark 01-11-2011 02:54 PM

I Loooooooooooooooove itunes and their business model is perfect. Search for what you want, find other similar music, listen to a sample, click to buy it. Credit card is on file so buying is soooooo easy.

Be thankful for itunes. itunes saved the music industry and transformed it at the same time. Remember buying an album for $24.95 which contained 2 good songs and 10 shitty songs? iTunes got the price down to $9.95, let you sample the whole album, and let you pick the songs you wanted. Even better, now more single songs are sold than ever before.

Go ahead and keep stealing your music. Personally I love BUYING great software from the artists I enjoy as opposed to ripping them off.

something like the Dipshit Pansies or the Afghan Junkies i bet?

the black eyed peas whether you like or not, write all their own music and lyrics which you cant say that about too many top 100 artists these days..

having an appreciation for all music lets one enjoy their personal favorites even more..

although i guess i should expect a comment like yours considering the lack of breeding typically found in adult internet persons...

It's always funny when some stupid people compare stealing a car or stealing a house, with downloading free music from the internet..

Those phrases are used by people like you because you hear it from BILL GATES or idiots like that, and then you use it again..

Man, use your own brain, create your own phrases it will make you look less stupid as you look now.

You can't extrapolate "stealing a car" and compare it with downloading free music from the internet, are you damn fucking stupid or what? Asshole.

Yeah I mean why pay for shit at wal-mart when it's FREE if you just walk out the door with it? I was going to buy a new HDTV but then I thought "Hey my neighbors have one and they're on vacation, why waste my money on a HDTV when I can just take the neighbors"

You're calling me stupid, yet you invented me comparing stealing music with stealing cars. I challenge you to find where I have done such a thing...

Stealing music isn't like stealing a car. But stealing music is still stealing... just like stealing content is still stealing. It's all stealing and immoral.

You should go beat the shit out of your parents for not teaching you better. They really did you an injustice.

it may be easy to find a song or whatever for free, but its much faster just to goto itunes and get it, so what you are spending a dollar or so for a song, or I just play it through grooveshark.

webair 01-11-2011 06:26 PM

Great idea, let's download free music and free content, so the people who actually make a living at it move onto something where they can make an actual living!

No. They do *now* because everyone steals their shit. There *used* to be such a thing as a primarily studio band that would create very textured and detailed music that wasn't always transferrable to a live environ. Also, bands can lose incredible amounts of money touring when trying to break into a new country (as opposed to one-off festival slots). One quite successful band I know lost money on two US tours before the third one was profitable. Also a lot of bands sell their merch rights and don't get t-shirt revenue. Basically you steal music and you fuck the musician in the ass, no way around it. Everyone mentions Metallica or Lady Gaga as though they won't feel it, but 90% of people's 3,000,000 mp3 collections aren't making bank and will be working some day job again in 5 years.

What if I don't want to tour, but I do want to write and record songs. Am I not entitled to make money off that work?

That's the thing young people think $1 is sooooo much money for one song. When I was a kid in the 70's and 80's there were these things called 45 singles. They had 2 songs the main song on one side and some crappy song on the other side. These cost about a dollar 30 YEARS AGO. So in today's money that's like $3. It wasn't portable and if you fucked it up you spent another $1 to buy a new one.

the game has changed... music artists now endorse perfume, clothing lines, etc... to make their money. And some still make over $1 mill per live show.

Here in the first world $1 is the same as free. With iTunes you don't have to spend valuable minutes finding a good source, then worrying about possible quality issues.

iTunes = better than free.

I HATE itunes! I do pay for my mp3 albums or songs though but I buy them from Amazon for a lot cheaper and they are mine to put on ALL my mp3 players (Droid, sony mp3, and ipad). Amazon doesn't charge sales tax like itunes does either.

TheDoc 01-11-2011 07:57 PM

It's genetics... way back your troll of a mom gave away a freebie, thus you came about, and now today you think everything should be free, so you troll about it. I don't blame you, it's your whore of mom's fault.

Depends on where you live. If Amazon has physical presence in your state they will charge sales taxes. Amazon just signed a deal to open a distribution center in Chattanooga so I expect my tax free purchases from Amazon to be ending in the next couple of years if not sooner.

And technically you are supposes to pay the sales taxes YOURSELF in most states if the company doesn't charge them.

sure you are your taking a spot that can be sold

if that theater sells out, someone who paid for the seat is not getting to see the show.

There is a huge difference between that and making a copy

copyright infringement is not Theft it never will be it a fraud, the sooner you understand that fact the sooner you will actually see the solution.

I'm against stealing music, porn or even cars.

But at least musicians can IN A WAY profit from free distribution of music by boosting their popularity and have more seats booked on their concerts. So maybe that's the next big thing in porn - live performances? :)

DWB 06-12-2011 05:32 AM

I buy music on itunes all the time, easily spending $100+ a month there. Also buy music at BandCamp.

Why?

1) I'm a musician.

2) I'm smart enough to know that when there is no more money to be made in the music industry, many will stop recording new music. Bands / artists make most of their money with touring and merchandise as is, and I don't want to steal from them what money they do make with their recordings. But most of all, I appreciate what they do and I like to support them.

Having said that, I no longer pay for recorded porn.

Why?

Because time and time and time again I was ripped off or disappointed in the site I joined. No one EVER delivered what they promised. Girls on the tour may not be in the members area, or the back end was messed up, videos or photos were broken, hard to cancel, poor quality, and on and on and on.

You reap what you sow, and right now the porn industry is dying a slow death because of all the shit it has done in the past. Well, that and the fact that almost any google search will give you a tube / cyber-locker / torrent result over the actual site you should otherwise get.

It's hard to find content you may want to pay for even if you are trying to seek it out. And then if you finally do find it and you do have to pay for it, you get a pop-under or a scammy join page that doesn't make you feel comfortable. Then if you click back to look at the tour again, you get some BS pop-up offer or a fucking fake ass chat box trying to get you to stay, which often follows by yet another pop-under. No thanks. I can find it for free within 30 seconds of searching on google.

The Ghost 06-12-2011 05:36 AM

I buy songs through iTunes :)
