Sooo... I now have 9 pitbull mix puppies.
I have been taking care of my brothers pitbull for the last few months now. My black lab/great dane nailed her and knocked her up. I figured ok, I will just have a few puppies around for awhile. No big deal.
I did not expect her to have nine healthy pups. :Oh crap |
You have a male and a female that are not spayed/neutered and you're surprised they had puppies? You're an idiot. Get your dog fixed.

Everyone loves puppies, but unfortunately, there's only so many people willing to take in new dogs. Most will be abandoned, put in a shelter or disposed of.
Because they're puppies, they have a better chance of finding a home but because they're pit mixes, that could be a problem to some people. I love all types of dogs, but I know the reality of finding pitbulls, whether full bred or mixed good homes. I agree with Babaganoosh, you should have never had both in the same place. Dogs that aren't fixed, want to reproduce. It's just nature. Now... you have 9 dogs that you need to find homes for. Good luck... and I mean that seriously. I hope you are responsible enough to follow through with it. |

Quite a responsibility you have there!

A pitbull getting shafted by a great dane.. what a slut. Tell the dog to check they're his.
|
This thread needs some cute puppy pics!
|
Poor puppies, who knows what the future might hold for them.
|
Seriously dude. That's some irresponsible shit.
Who the hell is going around with un-neutered pets? Don't you know that millions of dogs get put to sleep ever year in shelters? |
Every time Jesus flips the bird, a pitbull has a puppy...
|
you're part of the problem.

It's not just about finding these puppies a home, it's also about finding them a suitable home.. a Pit/Dane cross is gonna be a pretty big dog. Add to that the stigma attached to the pit-bull part, and it compounds the issue. Not trying to sound preach-y here, its just that I've seen the result of aggressive type dogs going to the wrong homes. |
A friend of a friend owns a pit rescue and will help me place the pups, that is not a problem. They are going to be a handfull until then.
The pitbull is my brothers dog and I took her in to help him out and keep her from going to a shelter. I told him I wasn't going to be able to prevent her from getting pregnant. I left it up to him whether he wanted to have her fixed or not. As for the lab/dane, well he is my dog and I am not going to get him fixed just because I have her in the house. It's not a huge deal, just going to be a fun filled 8 weeks :) I am just surprised she had so many. I was not expecting that. |

you need to realize you are part of the problem instead of trying to wiggle your way out of this thread. |

Yes I knew the risk, and I took it. However I was hoping for a smaller litter. Also, I spoke to my friend who put me in touch with the rescue person, after I posted the first part of your quote. |

there should be a test for pet ownership. that way poor animals won't suffer due to retards like the op.

congratz on adding to the problem and using up the limited resources of a pitbull shelter
do the world a favor and get yourself fixed |

I am not going to get into some heated debate with you guys because you don't believe in my choice. It is my choice. And there are not 9 dogs going to any shelter or any homeless animals. They all have a home, mine. A few already been claimed. The rescue person will help me FIND HOMES for the others.

post pics, would love to see that mix
why is everyone getting bent out of shape? life happened, buddy has learned a few lessons and it sounds like he's doing the responsible thing in finding homes for all of them it could be a lot, lot worse. |

Looks like you are already doing a better job than PETA at finding homes. Peta kills near 98% of their animals. So kudos to you. :pimp |

There is a reason why smart people tell dumb asses like yourself what to do. But dumb asses are to dumb to listen. That is why I think people to dumb for their own good should have less rights. That way they dont feel they have a choice. And all the smart people dont need to hear the excuse of having a choice or have to clean up dumb asses mess. you shouldnt be using a rescue person in the first place you dumb ass. handle your business and stop dumping your personal trashy choices onto the world asshole. |

There is a huge difference between handling a responsibility and cleaning up a mess. being responsible is getting them spayed or neutered. cleaning up a mess is finding them a home. i love this new world, i can fuck up all i want but as long as i dump my mess on other people im being responsible. NICE |

he obviously wanted to breed his animal. you guys think what you want, i will think what I want. my pets are my friends, i don't mutilate my friends |
Quote:
No you dont have to "mutilate" your dog that is your personal choice, but if you are to stupid to watch what your dog is doing maybe it is a good option. :2 cents: there is enough problem animals in the world. If you're such a dog lover you should be adopting all 9. :2 cents: Quote:

I am a dog lover too, only I am not so quick to 'fix' animals. That does not make me irresponsible. Not feeding these pups, or just tossing them along a back road, or leaving them to die would be irresponsible. :helpme |

great advice. |

I just find it comedic, seriously when i fuck up i get a swift kick in the ass from the people around me. not a "its all good" approach. |
