I really don't watch much TV, but I recalled the Sons of Anarchy thread that was here a while ago and tracked down the first season. I gotta say that's some of the best damn TV I've seen in a long time. You guys were right. I watched the entire first season today just about straight through, aside from a 2 hour break for some road hockey when the sun came out. Hell of a show though, if you got a rainy day to burn off and never seen it, check it out.

You should watch Breaking Bad, that show is the SHIIITTTT

Yeah I'm not the biggest tv fan either but I'd recommend Breaking Bad and The Wire both.

Breaking Bad has actually been on my TV guilty pleasure list for a while. Weeds never did it for me, but BB is great. I occasionally tune in for House. Kind of disappointed that Heroes got canceled actually. Excited about the new season of Eastbound and Down, and patiently waiting for Walking Dead. That's about it for me on the tv end of things.

Never seen it but heard that its good, i refuse to take on more TV though lol

Dexter was another one I didn't really get. Everyone seems to lov eit, but I dunno. Maybe I gotta watch from the beginning.

SOA is so not my type of thing, but I gave it a shot and it rocked. Been watching it ever since.

Second season is a bit av-.

Why's that?

Is not the story of baddog and his biker tales entertaining?

several things-

1. every episode includes an soa member doing something incredibly stupid, like keystone cops/3 stooges stupid.

2. not enough biker action

3. too much like a daytime soap opera

4. inaccurate portrayal of how outlaw biker outfits run

SOA is great

things I think are missing, but It's a pretty close protrayal, they have 81's on the set to make sure

there weren't any 81s on set when i was on set 1st season

even so, they violate some major patch rules.

not trying to act like i'm a member or an expert, but they break a lot of patch rules

I really wanted to like SoA, but the writing and acting just aren't there. I like it ok though and will watch it. Now, Breaking Bad, that's the shit right there.

Perhaps baddog could chime in with some points of clarification on that.

well, for one they wear their colors in cars, major rule violation for many clubs.

tons of clubs out there with rules of their own, just going by the h a rules i'm familiar with from back in the day when i rode with some of those cats

clearly destroys the plot of the entire story, i will quit watching now due to this incredible inaccuracy in the portrayal of the outlaw biker lifestyle...

SOA is awesome, the one thing I didn't expect to see them do is wear helmets (badass bikers etc).. I thought that in those parts of the states CA/AZ etc helmets weren't mandatory?

A lot depends on what they can do if they have 3 patches compared to two. They don't wear their colors all the time, but there was someone they have been using from the 81's for reference.
Being around them, you know you just can't put on colors without their permission

watching one episode somewhere in the middle would be a little off putting.. i only started watching it last season, but it was from the beginning so you get hooked from there really..

i need to watch the first few now though.

either way, i couldn't give 2 shits what you spend your time watching.

I liked the second season, I've watched the first 3 episodes of this season too. I don't give a flying fuck if it's inaccurate. It's entertaining.

peeps are free to watch whatthefuckever they want to watch. i simply posted my opinion as a biker/television watcher.

I think you just stated the point. Who is going to tll the Mongols, Pagans, Bandidos, etc.. that there are rules to the placement of their patches or etiquite of wearing their colors?

Rubicon and Mad Men are both pretty good too.

i figured it was along those lines, there was another one too, hbo was developing a similar show, not sure if it's the same.
