How many signups a day would you consider satisfying for a small program?

let's assume no trials - price range around $29.90 monthly

10 a day?

20 a day?

50 a day?

not sure about today, but a few years ago i heard from bigger programs something between 2,000 and 3,500 signups a week - including trials

FeelMyTube 08-17-2010 05:48 PM

depends what are the costs, no? then enough to meet you're desired return / profit margin.

other than that, as many as possible :)

Barefootsies 08-17-2010 06:44 PM

For a small program, per day, I think most would be shitting their panties with 10 per day.

With affiliates 20/day minimum, without 10/day minimum... absolute minimum to 'keep going'

anything less >>> gtfo

The only people that did those numbers were really big programs. Not sure if I misread but it sounds like people told you small programs used to do 2000 signups a week?

Shap 08-17-2010 06:56 PM

We've looked to acquire a number of sites. And to be honest you'd be surprised how many sites are always around the 10/day mark. And this during the height of the industry.

That said it's all about what that site owner wants to make. Everything is hearsay in this business. A lot of bs floats around. I'm usually guilty of getting caught up and worrying about how we rank in the industry. But really it doesn't matter. As long as you are happy and meeting your targets (both short and long term) that's usually the most important thing.

7 signups a day with decent rebills could net someone $5k+ a month. For most people that's pretty decent living.

Sorry I confusingly meant signups/rebills combined - so about 8,000$/month before expenses...

7 signups per day at roughly $25 a pop ($29.90 minus processing fees) = $175 per day
7 rebills per day at $25 = $175 per day
Total = $350 per day * 30 = $10500 per month.

A small operation should have no problem operating at a 50% profit margin.

Hence $5000+ in net a month.

epitome 08-17-2010 07:41 PM

Strive for 10 with good rebills.

Also do not forget the many other ways to monetize members. It's not all about the initial join or rebill.

Exactly. The other ways to monetize could easily cover all expenses leaving a 7 to 10 signup/day site the potential to make $10k net a month.

I'm looking to increase my daily joins.

If you want to sell me some of your traffic, hit me up now.

ack 08-17-2010 08:19 PM

ok cool math didnt know your daily signup rate had to match your daily rebills to tell if you are doing good or not

That is if you are a decent site. You should be able to achieve 1:1 rebill:sales ratio after 6 months. On Twistys it's much higher ie 2:1

pornstar2fag 08-17-2010 08:26 PM

at least 4.

And for anyone wondering how, just a few are:

Limited trials to encourage more sign-ups
If you're into xsales, sell to another one of your sites
Live cams white label in the members area
Member area upsells to complimentary sites
Member mailers
Ex-member mailers

Some of the above I like, others I don't.

Yanks_Todd 08-17-2010 08:41 PM

shap's math is solid, I have alway equated a signup a day to around $1k per month

Yanks_Todd 08-17-2010 08:42 PM

add a signup a day, make a grand

Sounds so simple when broken down that way.

IllTestYourGirls 08-18-2010 04:25 AM

Bigger programs should be doing 2000 joins a week easily. 500k unqiues/day at a join every 1000 is 500 joins a day 3500/week. Even at a ratio of 1/2000 its still 1750 a week.

Lol how many paysites can you name that get 500k a day?

ack 08-18-2010 06:58 AM

2k joins a week is 285 joins a day most companies lucky to do 50 a day i bet

12clicks 08-18-2010 07:26 AM

who knew! :winkwink:

Some programs do them. Some do many many more. Depends if you count free(cc) trials or $1 trials etc. Some programs operate in the shade doing 1000+ signups a day but you can guess where most signs come from (mailers and chat).

10 a day is 300 a month, solid cash for small program

Denny 08-18-2010 08:42 AM

20+ a day :winkwink:

Well I was thinking most big programs have more than one pay site. I was just figuring that over all they had 500k in traffic. They should have more.

fuzebox 08-18-2010 08:57 AM

I love when people start throwing numbers around.

This is interesting to me, do you know of any with transgender models?

woj 08-18-2010 09:17 AM

way too many factors to consider :2 cents:

someone living in some 3rd world country with low overhead and a site that rebills well could probably live well with just a few signups per day... :2 cents:

sojproductions 08-18-2010 09:25 AM

so if bigger programs were doing 2000 to 3500 a week a few years back, whats the guesstimate now? half?

DWB 08-18-2010 09:32 AM

Glenn showed me his full NATS stats from Incredible Dollars a few years ago before they shit the bed... 2000-3000+ new sales a day, 5000+ rebills a day. I almost threw up in my mouth.

I think with smaller programs if you can get 10 solid a day, you will be OK. Though there are days where you simply get shit.

I saw it as well. 97% were cross sells.
