You know what I hate and really burns me are people who are successful but still rip people off. That is why Jules Jordan name is here.

I had someone do some work for me and we were just talking. I found out he does some work in the Adult biz. He told me Jules just moved into a new building and did some work. Well, he never got paid for the work over a month. He did get paid on the spot for working on his brand new $8,000,000 home in Malibu.

I now alot of vendors that he uses and one of them I know personally. Last time I've talked to him Jules wouldn't pay down his $100,000+ bill he left.

I'm all for making money and terms but JULES has no honor. You just bought aN EIGHT MILLION DOLLAR HOME!!!! JULES IS A FUCKING MORON. Some people need to make a living especially the small people that don't own a MALIBU home.

I own movies and a small time person but all my bills are paid. Not one vendor has not been paid in full and on the spot. On top of it all I don't even make any money.

I don't encourage tube sites or bootleg of movies but since JULES JORDAN IS A CROOK HIMSELF and OWNS A EIGHT MILLION DOLLAR HOME IN MALIBU AND TWO MORE MANSION HOUSE IN THE VALLEY, people should steal his movies. BOOTLEG ALL JULES JORDAN MOVIES! He deserves what he gets and maybe he will understand how all of us feel when we are struggling to make a living.

i know he's been very successful with his studio but jesus, an 8 million dollar home in Malibu and two other million dollar plus homes? didn't really think it was possible to accumulate that much wealth in the gonzo DVD biz.

You guys forget he's been in the biz a long time, what since 2002 when DVDs were making $$$ and he won tons of awards, his shit sold very very well for many years.

Anyone thinking Jules can't afford an 8 million dollar home is on crack. He's been in the biz since the days of $100k+ returns on 1 movie. I was there and saw it, that's why Evil Angel was the holy grail for DVD gonzo directors. Nowadays money isn't that great but Jules and Evil have it all locked up. It's growing smaller everyday so I'm sure the money won't flow like before for much longer.

Top producers like Jules still bring in a ton of money selling DVDs. They do not just sell a couple thousand, they still sell thousands and at a premium. Not to mention he owns the company which is selling tens of thousands of movies every month not including foreign deals, internet, broadcast, vod or any other avenue he has. Jules is paid. :2 cents:

And don't forget... the MINUTE that the DVD hits the store, it gets ripped and put online for free. No protection against that. I don't know what business some of you are in...but it doesn't sound like the porn biz to me. :2 cents:

By far I'm sure...BUT you're discounting the fact that piracy has decimated online revenue as well. His shit is everywhere for free. Why on earth would people pay for it? Robbie, like most of the people in this thread who don't go back far enough to before the internet porn business existed, you really have no clue what you are talking about on this issue. I worked for the biggest distributor of VHS/DVD/novelties for many years in the 1990s and still talk to my colleagues in the offline porn biz. There are still fortunes being made by some. DVD sales have not sucked since the late 1990's- they were at their peak then and continued strong for many, many years after that. DVD sales really didn't slow down overall until a few years ago and even then that only applies to the aggregate. The top studios nowadays are essentially multimedia companies and still do very well between DVD and VOD and broadcast and international and their web site partnerships.

I can tell you this...I made 90K a month for most of this last decade. No way in hell I could afford an $8 million dollar home. I have a 5 grand a month mortgage on my current home and it sucks. lol

And I never even heard of him until the last few years. Was he around in the 1990's? And even if he tried to put his financial ducks in a row as you said...I can tell you that I lost a ton of money with my SEP plan stock investments. Just making a million dollars a year for a decade doesn't mean you HAVE 10 million dollars.

It means you paid a LOT of taxes. lol

And also getting a jumbo loan is not easy. Believe me...and getting a jumbo loan for $8 million dollars is gonna be out of reach of a guy with camcorder shooting porn.

Robbie, you may have had a conversation with an individual in the know one time who told you what he felt like telling you. That insight alone is worth almost nothing. I worked very closely with the same person at Pleasure Productions & IVD for most of the 1990s. I had a front row seat to see just about everything going on in the offline porn biz including all the studios and how many pieces they were shipping. Of course things have changed a lot since then. But then again, a lot of the most successful players have diversified into a lot of other areas in adult or even mainstream. It's not my place to go into details about this company or that studio. I am just saying you don't know enough about it to start speculating who can afford what. It's not unlike the internet porn biz. There are a handful of multi-millionaires with hugely successful companies and a hundreds more also rans who do okay and a lot more who are barely scraping by.

right - and i know some pretty rich people in this biz and outside the biz and they do own $2-3M homes but not 8 million dollar ones.

you know who buys an 8 million dollar home? Superstar athletes, top TV and film actors, top music stars etc - people who make 10 million a year and up. And even in the best days of the adult DVD biz Jules Jordan wasn't making close to that kind of money - before or after taxes.

His stuff made a ton of money for other people on the Net, in the heyday of the movie AVS systems, AdultBouncer and DeluxePass, Jules Jordan's stuff was ripped off huge. He sued Adult Bouncer and settled with them. Both AB and DP were huge thieves, as bad or maybe worse than Pornhub et all They used the same excuse the tube sites did.

Yes, I agree that there was a time when brick and mortar sales made a lot of folks rich. But that hasn't been the case in many years. And Mutt is right...no way this guy has an eight million dollar home that he is paying for with money made on DVD sales or even distribution on the net.

What's a top selling DVD pushing numbers wise these days? 15,000 units? 30,000 units? There just isn't enough money there to afford the same kind of homes that an NBA star player or a George Clooney stature movie star can do.

Even "back in the day" that would be a little too much. It's difficult to get a jumbo loan. They probe your asshole inside and out before they do that. It's not like getting a loan for a "normal" home. Once you go over a certain dollar amount the loan becomes "jumbo"

And all of us who have one know what you have to show to be able to get it, and what the limitations are. I had to have the kind of income I have monthly to get the dollar amount on the jumbo loan I have.

To get one that is eight times the one I have would have required me to have about eight times the income. I just don't believe that JJ is making several hundred thousand dollars a month PROFIT that he pays himself. That's insane.

And if he DOES make that much money...then I would like to apologize to you Mr. Jordan and offer my services.

I would have to agree with Jim. We don't know how and what he does with his money. I know Chris that use to run Anabolic made outside investment that is lucrative for him.

I'm not a hater. I don't know Jules Jordan. I just know what the type of income that is required to get an loan from a bank for 8 million dollars. And I know what investments and real estate have done the last two years as well. So saying he invested well doesn't hold a lot of water with me either.

Jim is a very knowledgeable person anything porn. If Jim says something, he is generally on point. He has been around since early 90s and has seen it all. I respect the guy and give weight to anything he says. I have met the guy and hung out with him and phone him when i have any questions that people around here cant answer.



In conclusion;

I dont know Jules Jordan and have never met the guy, but i have close friends that distribute though him and people that have worked with him and for him. One thing they all have in common is that he knows his shit, works very hard, he is well respected and everyone try's to measure up to the Jules Jordan standard and success. I never hate Its a wasted effort. I just see what others have accomplished and use that as a standard i strive to surpass. And it seems that Jules Jordan is that standard:2 cents:

I just am very skeptical of the original poster's assertion that:

But I do know money, and having just went through a jumbo loan process in 2008 I know how MUCH money you would have to have as INCOME (salary) to qualify for a jumbo loan. Which means paying yourself a salary (or if you work for someone else being paid a salary). And I pay myself a damn big salary. I needed every bit of it to qualify for the home I'm in now. Can't see that Jules Jordan is paying himself a salary that is 8 times what I pay myself in order to qualify for this purported mansion. (not to mention the OTHER two "mansions" that the original poster claims)

I DO know how much the DVD industry has been decimated the last few years. It's been hit harder than the online guys by piracy.

And I'm still not saying that JJ or some others aren't making a nice living. I'm saying that they are NOT able to pay themselves a salary of several hundred thousand dollars PER MONTH in order to be able to qualify for a jumbo loan of 8 million dollars.

Unless you are a star quarterback in the NFL or a multi million dollar basketball player or a famous Hollywood star or Mick Jagger...you just aren't pulling THAT kind of money.
