Canadians - Whats a good city to live in?
I may have a study year out at a unviersity in Canada and I am just browsing around at the moment. I lost the list listing the names of the univeristies, but they were prettty much in the main cities, torronto, ottowa, montreol.
So im just wondering which are the most livley cities, with the hottest girls, best bars to drink in and maybe near some ski resorts (hehe) Anyway wheres some top places. Im getting sick to death of england :disgust. p.s. i heard weed is practically legal there, noone cares, am i correct? |
well I live in Toronto for 5 years now and I like it here. I wouldn't live anywhere else in Canada.
My mom and sis live in England and I got there twice a year, London is very nice to look at but I wouldn't live there. Each time I get home from there I am all excited about my brand new condo and contemporary look in the city. English Victorian style is nice to look at, but feels reaaally old inside. I guess I'm off topic here lol. All in all, I recommend Toronto :thumbsup |
montreal is too baller for you
|
I think you got it backwards, the University you choose should be more important.
|
montreal my homy
|
Toronto is great but PinkStarCash ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
North Bay and Sudbury are pretty affordable. You can get a decent 1-2 bedroom all inclusive apartment for $600 a month. Both places have colleges as well North Bay has Canadore and Nippising University Sudbury has a couple as well.
|
Montreal is probably best for parties and girls but if you don't speak any french, might be a problem with some people and getting jobs. I like ottawa. We've got two universities here and you don't have the crazy rent rates like in toronto or the traffic jams as much.
|
You'll freeze your ass off in Toronto/Montreal, maybe Vancouver but it rains there ALL the time and is 80% Indochin. I'd stay away from Canada.

Toronto has already been mentioned, but Windsor is a pretty lively place when classes are in, and I'm personally partial to Halifax.
|
Vancouver but u better make alot of $$$
or u will be living in a basement suite of someone's house |
Vancouver = Pleasant weather, gorgeous women, so so hockey.
Montreal = Cold winters, easy women, best hockey. Toronto = Hot and muggy in the summer, cold in the winter, shitty hockey. Out of the three cost of living is probably lowest in Montreal and the most expensive in Vancouver. I'm under the impression that the night life is better in both Toronto and Montreal, I dunno your choice. I'm not originally from Vancouver but considering the amount of Torontonians that live here I'd have to say this city isn't too shabby :) |
Toronto.

Vancouver is an amazing city, but nightlife is not its strong point. If you like outdoor activities, it's great. Island hopping or driving up the Sunshine Coast on a summer long weekend is a perfect quick getaway. If you want nightlife, I'd say Montreal is more your kind of city.

Halifax in the summer is a great place to live (been here my whole life, and have traveled everyweres else in Canada) the night life is amazing, where the only province with clubs serve drinks till 330.. lots of girls i think its like a 6:1 ratio good universities also St.Mary's, Dalhousie etc..
|
oh and to answer your question about weed being pretty much legal, if its under half oz and not in seperate baggies you get away with a small fine (i think its like 150$)

Toronto's very business, Montreal is party-central, and Vancouver is quite laid back. You can't go wrong with any of them, they're all top notch places to hunker down for a while.

Sudbury affordable??? Are you insane? I live in Sudbury and it's not affordable.. Apartments are hard to find and the ones you do find are over priced shit holes. Maybe buying a house wouldn't be so bad, but if you're gonna rent, good luck. You will not get a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment for $600/month around here unless you want to live in a complete shit hole. You can rent a ROOM for $500/month, but not a decent apartment in a good area. Also, you will NEVER get a decent 1 bedroom apartment here all inclusive. Like I said, as long as you don't mind living in a total shit hole than it's all good. Yes, we have Cambrian College, College Boreal and Laurentian University. My girlfriend lives in a ONE bedroom apartment in Sudbury, it's SMALL and she pays $675. Her landlord said that when she moves he will charge $750 for it. |

check out Queens University and University of Western Ontario - two great schools in real college towns - you'll have a far better time at those schools than in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
|
Go to vancouver the weed is the best in canada. some of the best in the world west coast
|
I'll say Pickering, Ontario...
|
I'm surprised no one has said London, Ontario yet, a couple of hours away from Toronto, a couple of hours away from Niagra, TONS of girls and they love the cock!
