A little further than that, Banff is about 9 hours. Whistler/Blacombe are about 1.5 hours from downtown and probably the best skiing in Canada. If that's too far then you could go to the local hills which are only 30min away :thumbsup

you are right, I did mean Whistler. ;)

Your whole cultural diversity thing is nothing but hippe bullshit. Do you really think those who immigrate from backwards countries are thinking this? Go to where they came from and see how culturally diverse you can be.

Montreal is cheap as hell, and the french girls pull out easily !

Vancouver .. we have the University of BC and Simon Fraser University .. both out standing schools and the rest is a no brainer .. Vancouver by far is the most temperate of all the cities in Canada .. and with the pacific ocean and coastal mountain range ..was voted the best place to live on the planet a few times in our past ..

McGill University has a worldwide reputation (its in Montreal). Montreal is know for its festivals, nightlife, European culture, bilingual context (McGill is mainly English) and yes, girls are hot here - which compensates for cold winters. Summertime is a ball in Montreal, unlike Toronto and yuk - Ottawa - the dullest city in Canada where bars close at 1am (3am in MTL). Msg me mate, I live in Montreal and I'll be glad to take you around ;)

Just driving to the 7/11 looking at mountains all over the place. Remember that when considering anything else

I actually weeded my garden yesterday! My crocuses are peeping through and all is sunshiny! The weather is just awesome out here in the spring time.

i live in montreal, never lived anywhere else.

winter is really annoying but if you like skying you'll like it. Its a party city too. Everybody agrees quebec women are pretty, cuties everywhere, and they are hot in bed ( I dated anglos and they all were impressed by the difference between ottawa women and montrealers.)

BUT its french, so you need to live with it. Lots of people dont speak english or dont want to. The west side of town is more anglo though.

Rent is really really cheap compared to any other big city.

I have met a LOT of immigrants, or people from anywhere in the world and they all loved montreal. Myself I love ottawa I'll probably move there when I'm 40, it has gorgeouse houses and its a quiet place.

It would help if you could actually spell the city names properly since you are going to be deciding on which one you are going to live into

I lived in my Toronto my whole life, I got my own place in the downtown core, easy access by transity pretty much anywhere I want to go in the city is about a 25 to 45 minute train ride.

I am close the club district even though I don't go to the them. I am mostly a home body.

the Rent is a bit pricey but it all depends on which part of the city you are in.

as for bars I can always find out 5 minute walking from my apartment or anywhere in the 10 mile radios probably even bigger. There is always a pub around.
