Farang 11-08-2007 07:03 AM

BuggyG 11-08-2007 07:10 AM

Between that and Western Union, it should have tipped you off that something was fishy. Giving feedback BEFORE YOU GET SOMETHING defeats the entire purpose of feedback.

Sorry you lost your cash though

sorry man ....
But WU is like a red alert :
http://www.tsa.gov/graphics/images/dhs-threat.jpg

You will not get your money back .Even Paypal is not that secure when issues happens. Always use your credit card ...
As for the " feedback " system, it is worth nothing ... Buyers now wait to see what feedback you leave to leave the same ...

So it you paid promptly, in full, and communicated that the product is defective, you will get a negative if you leave a negative to the seller first.

Credit Card : CHARGEBACK.

quantum-x 11-08-2007 07:33 AM

It sucks you got ripped, but jesus, you only have yourself to blame.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...ts-policy.html

Not permitted on eBay.com: Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. Sellers may not ask buyers to send cash through instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram

They can't make it any more clear than that..

hmm.. I thought you can chargeback with paypal, no?

mn 11-08-2007 07:45 AM

always make sure you have the correct phone # and adress, verify this. then if you get scammed you can just fly over and collect the money + the extra costs involved for you. this way it's impossible to get scammed.

no problems paying via WU.

You can try ... but they make you go thru so many loops that you end up with having to do your own chargeback.

When you do that, then and only then does Paypal recharge the sellers account.

Enemator 11-08-2007 08:07 AM

The stupidity of some people is appalling.

What the fuck were you thinking?
"Hey, this address in Nigeria looks pretty legit" :1orglaugh

msan 11-08-2007 08:08 AM

lazycash 11-08-2007 10:32 AM

Let me guess, the deal seemed just too good to pass up, what was it? Did the seller supply you with an address or phone for the WU transfer?

Farang 11-08-2007 03:15 PM

car rims, the deal looked good indeed, $2500 for 20' rims and tires, but then he asked to send him another $600, so I did, after that he asked for another $1400 to cover shipping charges, wtf?? Also refused to give me a refund.. I have a phone # and address, the seller is in US. Should I sue his ass? for $3000, is it worth it?

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 11-08-2007 03:19 PM

I have to say, judging by the responses of 'Oh shit, really' in this thread -
WHAT THE FUCK?!

Ebay goes out of its way to tell you NOT TO PAY BY WU - for anything - and forbids it in policy.

Yet so many people, eager to 'snap up' that great deal and think they know better... post on GFY looking for shoulders to cry on :| ??

Sorry to hear that.

Another drawback to using Western Union -- ASS RAPE FEES. Fees are outrageous!

Thanks

After Shock Media 11-08-2007 07:00 PM

Damn stupid yes, but hell use small claims and get it back. If your in CA you can do 5,000 if its your first case this year otherwise its 2500 and it only costs 70 or so to file. Then for shits and giggles I would submit it to all of the TV court shows to see if any will pick it up.
