I haven't had a cigarrette in 36 hours

Been taking chantix for 2 weeks now, just opened the 3rd package today.

Yesterday was rough, I spent most of the morning cleaning stuff that wasn't really dirty just to keep myself busy.

Today is easier than yesterday, but still not easy. I can't even imagine how hard this would be without the chantix.

J. Falcon 07-24-2007 10:26 AM

Keep it bro, these are the hardest hours.

Ron2k1 07-24-2007 10:27 AM

36 hours without cigerette is easy for me, it's getting hard when I start drinking some beers.

Beer without cigarettes is almost impossible for me

CaptainHowdy 07-24-2007 10:28 AM

Stay strong... this are the darkest hours indeed! You'll feel great...

What's chantix? I used nicorrett (sp) and it wasn't too bad. Smoked for ten years, chewed the gum for a little over one.

So I did some research on this book and it looks good...so I go to audible to buy it and download right away and they won't sell it to me because I'm in the U.S.

So that's stressing me out and now I need a smoke...LOL

munki 07-24-2007 11:47 AM

Chantix strikes again.... I need to check that schitt out

chase 07-24-2007 11:48 AM

Eat something, and you'll forget all about smoking.

Snake Doctor 07-25-2007 07:08 PM

Coming up on 72 hours.
I haven't had a smoke or committed a felony.

Should be smoother sailing from here on out I think.

yeah, that is hard. if you want to quit smoking you need to stop drinking for a little while. eventually you will break down and smoke. you can't do one or the other.

How weird will lung cancer or emphysema feel? That sounds like the little devil in your mind giving you a "good enough reason" to not take the pills and keep smoking. (FWIW I'm sure you felt weird the first time you smoked a cigarette but you managed to get used to those :winkwink: )

The Chantix helps for sure. I still had some withdrawal issues the first couple of days, but alot of those were more psychological than physical.
The last few days I was smoking on the Chantix I would take three or four puffs and then put it out because I was getting no pleasure from the cigarrette.

I'm reading it now, the book is not a "magical cure" the way you're describing it, but it definitely gives a different perspective on why you should quit and some tools to deal with the psychological withdrawals.

Its not a magical cure but it does help! i smoked almost 2packs of parliament light a day for 8 years i thought i will never quit.

Beside me, my wife quit and a 2 of my good friends. Allen carr's book helped me i trully hope it will help you!

IT FEELS SO GOOD BEING A NON-SMOKER
