Do You Leave Your Comp Switched On 24/7 ??
 

I've been leaving mine on the last few weeks, mostly because when it shuts down and starts up again, it seems to piss about, and not run too well.

Been meaning to get a new comp the past 2 months.

Running find though lately since i've been leaving it on all the time. Strange... :upsidedow

During the summer i turn it off at night..during the winter it helps heat the room :)

since i got my computer its alway on, only reboot it once in a while here and there.

I turn mine off if I move, or thunderstorms are severe ...

I keep the desktop on 24/7 but I turn the laptops off at night.

Yep, laptop goes into sleep/standyby mode if I'm going to be gone for more than a couple of hours, but I don't need to reboot.

I log off every night

I shut it down 2-3 times a week to let it cool down

Yea i shut mine on standby at nighttime too and reboot every few days.

I leave mine on, I just let it go to standby

I have one system that has been running for nearly 7 years straight.

I think it's been turned off twice.

I leave my computers on all the time. Mainly because I will pop in randomly after hours to check something, and then leave again. But I have them go to stand by.

One computer I reboot every few days. Other I can run for weeks, or months and never need to reboot it. Odd. Although I do manually clear things out and such.

desktop is on 24/7 or I would never be able to download all the mail that would backup from being turned off. . . . . learned that the hard way

I left mine on 24/7 for the last 3 yrs and only recently have had to shut it down every 5 days or so, so it can cool down.
I think the power suppy fan is shot. Maybe time replace it.

When i'am ready jerking i switch it off

I have a DVD burner sitting in my closet because I haven't had time to shut my pc off to install it

I keep two of my boxes on 24/7

mine is always on. The only time it's off is if I have to add a new part to it or reboot. Other than that it's always on. Even with my computer on all the time it never runs to hot.

leave it on 24/7 only turn if off if i'm going on holiday.

My workstation is my laptop and it is only asleep when it is in my bag between work and home.

I leave mine on all the time. It's connected to a 1500VA UPS, so it even stays on during the worst storms. Gives me about 5 hours of battery power to keep my shit up and running. =)

My pcs are always on, I only switch off the monitor

Same here. I build my PC's, so I always include extra fans anyways. I used to be a gamer, so I did that out of habit. Blow a few mobo's overclocking, and your learn the hard way.

Nope, put it off after use.

Only shut down to swap hardware.

And if your pc is overheating at idle loads you got problems :1orglaugh

Always. Reboot every week or two for a fresh start.

My computers run 24/7/365... 2 run that way and another 2 run when I need them for something specific and the others are tied up running some kind of script. Or I don't want the others tied up...

Got a video card I have been meening to throw in.. same shit...

The only time i shut down is when i'm travelling.
