Some people shouldn't use the ATM.

I pull up behind this guy to use the ATM and he drives off and leaves his card in the ATM. I yell and honk and he just looks at me like I'm crazy. I had to get out and give him his card. How the hell do you leave your card?

:upsidedow

Phoenix 02-23-2006 02:04 PM

i would have just threw it on the ground..let him pick it up

G-Rotica 02-23-2006 02:08 PM

Usually people honk at me for taking to long at the ATM. Today some psycho chick is honking becasue I forgot my card.

Spunky 02-23-2006 02:11 PM

No offense to the ladies but when there is a line up behind you,why do you always have to pay every bill and access every account you have..so damn frustrating

I'll tell you why... because we waited in the same damn line while everyone else did all their banking, so now it's our turn. I'm not going to speed it up for the people behind me to make it better for them because then I'm going to have to make another trip some other day to finish my business... and you know what? My time is too precious to put everyone else's needs ahead of my own.

Tom_PM 02-23-2006 02:17 PM

lol wow. Just another reason I use mine super late at night. Never have seen another car in sight, and I can take my sweet time, lol.

You did the right thing, everyone has a brainfart now and then :)

It seems like it happens every time.and always women..why can't they pay their bills online or go to a teller? It's only common courtesy, but I guess you can't blame women for being self absorbed

Must be a Canadian thing :winkwink:

infecto 02-23-2006 02:26 PM

You know what I hate. You wait in line outside to deposit a check. You have your deposit slip and check ready to slip in the box. Then there are 5 people in front of you that must stay infront of the box after finishing their transaction to make order in their purse. I hate that shit. Why can they move up one car length and finish what they needed so the line can move faster.

phogirl69 02-23-2006 04:02 PM

Ummm, I'm not crazy or anything, but throughout the span of around 8 years or so I probably left my card in the atm machine I would guess 7 or 8 times....
At LEAST :helpme It's probably more...

I don't know if I'm absent minded or what but sometimes I just leave it in there and forget, a few times the machine swallowed it as well. Usually it just stays in the machine and I have to come back and get it the next day, or the next customer was nice enough to go inside the branch and give it to them. I'm lucky I had never had anyone try to use my card or anything, but I gotta admit I've left it in there A LOT. :helpme

rowan 02-23-2006 05:26 PM

Around here the ATMs don't release the cash until you remove your card... in common sense terms it's a stupid order, because you're putting your card away while your cash is sitting there in plain view at the outlet. But it does mean that there's virtually no way you can leave your card behind - unless you're doing something besides a withdrawal. :winkwink:

Babagirls 02-23-2006 05:33 PM

i have a little contest with myself at atm's when i go...i try to remove my card before the first 'get your card' beep lol im such a fuckin dork. :P

Nismo 02-23-2006 05:35 PM

I would've gone shopping!

gregtx 02-23-2006 05:35 PM

I do 95% of my banking at the ATM but I rarely ever use the drive up... I prefer to use the walk up ones. I am very quick on them but do not mind waiting a few minutes if needed.

What I hate is when I am doing banking deposits for someone else and the person in front takes forever, sending the tube back and forth, back and forth... It's like they are financing a house using the drive thru... What the fuck. Then they get it back and sit there for a few before pulling off... I always pull forward to count my money, put my wallet away, etc. It's just more courteous.

czarina 02-23-2006 05:52 PM

I would have asked him for his PIN, and then gone shopping.

That implies that I'd be stupid enough to leave my card in the machine. I wouldnt be, nor would anyone I know.

What a moron that guy is. The bad thing about it is that the credit card companies hold MERCHANTS responsible for careless shit like this. We get chargebacks because this guy is a moron. :2 cents:

ATM - Automated Teller Machine. You get a little card when you open your bank account and pick a pin (password) to control access to it. You put the card in the machine, tell it how much cash you want and it spits out the money in currency through a little slot. In another slot, you can put in a deposit inside an envelope and you can sometimes pay loans, bills or buy postage stamps and shit like that by touching buttons on the screen.

I thought they had ATMs everywhere...

PixeLs 02-23-2006 06:12 PM

Probably a first timer or a careless idiot..

You drive up or drive through the atm machine. Basicly an ATM that you can reach from your window.

Well, I suppose you could look at it that way. But its more of a way to access your money after the bank closes. Kinda nice if you are a creature of the night. :thumbsup

prezzz 02-24-2006 05:12 AM

Well, I guess people do such things all the time - that's why for last 3 years or so I've only seen ATMs where you have to take your card back before the money is dispensed. Simple yet helpful idea.

marko13 02-24-2006 05:14 AM

well peoples are crazy enough to leave their cc....
