In a fight, would a younger version of yourself kick your ass?

I am 23 now... but if I travelled in time and fought myself at the age of 19-20 I'd probably get my ass kicked...

My pecs are turning into titties...

Platinumpimp 11-26-2005 12:01 AM

Usually you should become stronger up until the age of 40, depending on your training - exercise. Up from there, the body begins to weaken.

Anthony 11-26-2005 12:04 AM

Absolutely not.

I didn't train Gracie Jiu Jitsu when I was younger.

Triple 6 11-26-2005 12:04 AM

no. cuz mentally im stronger now then i was at, say, 17

well , as far as fights go... ive been watching mad ufc and tuf1&2, pride, etc... I think i would comatose my younger self with a 'rear naked choke'. :)

wedouglas 11-26-2005 12:06 AM

nah, im only 20

$5 submissions 11-26-2005 12:11 AM

Easily. The 29 year old version of myself would seriously OWN me.

Marcus Aurelius 11-26-2005 12:22 AM

No. I would whoop my 19 year old ass. im 29 now.

Dagwolf 11-26-2005 12:26 AM

I'd just have to try it. I think I'm a lot crazier than I used to be. :) That might give me an edge.

haha i did that to my brother today, we fuck around alot. my only chance to practice my ufc moves lmfao, reminds me of watching karate kid when i was young and after the movie jumping around like i was now a pro, watch out here comes the karate kid.

dig420 11-26-2005 12:44 AM

oh come ON man.. you're 23. You're a baby. It's way too early to start thinking you're on the downside physically lol

I'm not as quick and athletic as I was when I was younger, but I have three years or so of BJJ behind me now. Me at 39 would probably catch me at 20 sooner or later and choke me out.

Kard63 11-26-2005 12:45 AM

I'm 23 and I would skull fuck the 18 year old version of me.

Rochard 11-26-2005 01:03 AM

I'm a 37 year old former US Marine. Yes, I would have kicked my own ass if I went back in time. (And keep in mind I just went jogging for an hour at midnight!)

WarChild 11-26-2005 01:04 AM

Probably, because 10 years ago or so I was training hard, working out hard and sparing all the time. Although I know more now, and my skills are better now, phsyically I'm not match for myself when I was in my very early 20's.

Even so, now I'm armed and proficient, so I'd probably just shoot myself. :)

Doctor Dre 11-26-2005 01:06 AM

Nop I don't think so ... mentally and physically

xclusive 11-26-2005 01:10 AM

Nope i've had a lot more experiance since then and i'm in about the same shape so it would be even if anything

pussyserver - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-26-2005 01:17 AM

im 30 and I would shoot the shit out of a 19 year old me

fuck fighting

no questions asked

NickB. 11-26-2005 01:17 AM

LOL if it was possible I for sure would knock myself out

SilentKnight 11-26-2005 01:19 AM

If I traveled back in time, I wouldn't waste my time fighting. I'd buy my younger self a beer and hand over the winning lottery ticket numbers.

mikeyddddd 11-26-2005 02:08 AM

Indubitably.

Mine are too.

Personally, I'd love to kick my own ass. Hell I'd do it for breakfast every morning, if I could.

you love the UFC lifestyle eh...

but at least your training for the best :thumbsup

but i'm still a fan of chucky :upsidedow

WarChild 11-26-2005 02:22 AM

I'd like to spar with a pretty decent ju jitsu guy one day with the stipulation no gloves required, hand wraps only. I have basic required ground training and experience, but primarily I have heavy, fast hands. When I used to train in Van, there was no real Muay Thai and no Ju Jitsu at all. Muay Thai was limited to punches, elbows and kicks. KNow knees, head butts or clenches.

Anyway, be interesting.

baddog 11-26-2005 02:30 AM

This version of me would never give the younger me a reason to think about it.

Adultnet 11-26-2005 02:34 AM

I guess I would be able to kick my younger me..:) :pimp

Mr Pheer 11-26-2005 02:46 AM

the 26yr old version of me was a pissed off, rock hard badass that would stomp all over the current 35 yr old webmaster version of myself.

johnnyhey 11-26-2005 03:23 AM

wait til you hit 30 :)

:1orglaugh Good point. What he said.

Dalai lama 11-26-2005 03:36 AM

no way :)

jayeff 11-26-2005 03:42 AM

I got a rude awakening when I joined the local rugby club after I left school, because it had just never occurred to me how much harder older - not necessarily bigger or stronger - guys would be. I learned that lesson in my first game...

These days my heart plays up if I even talk too much, so any younger version of me could kick my ass with no trouble at all.

Walk into any BJJ school, they'll do it. We never wear gloves at all, no worries there, but if you actually try to drop a bomb on someone instead of just spar you'll pay the price once you're down.

Dig420 did something similliar with a kungfu guy about 2 years ago. Something about 7 family style shit. He shot in, got his back while they were standing. Looked like he was going for a RNC, but they almost fell in the pool.

It was enough proof that if you don't know how to sprawl and brawl, you won't have shit against a grappler.

There were plenty of good Muay Thaih schools in Van. Gold Lion had some good fighters. As for grapplers, dude, I have no idea what you are talking about, Denis Kang fought out of BC, under Marcus Soares, the highest ranked BJJ Blackbelt in Canada. There's also a Gracie Barra school at Cocoon Athletics, as well as a host of BJJ schools in Langley, Richmond, etc.

You could find good fighters anywhere if you looked hard enough.

Babagirls 11-26-2005 04:39 AM

without a fuckin doubt lol
before: Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing: 5 days a week, 4-6 hours a day
now: sit at the computer 6-12 hours a day, and i make a "ugh" sound when i get up lol

:helpme

gangbangjoe 11-26-2005 06:09 AM

not really :)

fallenmuffin 11-26-2005 06:23 AM

I'd buy myself a pint and spend the evening discussing time travel. Cause I've always been a geek... arg

Cypherpunk 11-26-2005 06:49 AM

depends how far I go back, large period of my life i was wasted daily :(

spacedog 11-26-2005 07:02 AM

my 37 year old self would wipe the street with my 19 year old self.
I'd have alot to teach to my young self, so that perhaps when i return to my current time, my life would be better & different having eliminated several mistakes & incidents.
