oh and by the way...
A controversy erupted in another disaster situation in 1999 when Chavez turned down an offer for U.S. military engineers to come help reopen a main coastal highway following catastrophic floods and mudslides. He said Venezuela didn't need the Americans' help. |

Fucking plain crazy what the guys on top are doing while people are starving and rotting on top of each other... If world leaders slowed their fucking role a little bit and be more peaceful we would all get by alot easier.
:321GFY those think their shit dosen't stink....you all make this world a living hell |
Yep, a source would be nice.
|
He seems to be turning down help from everywhere, foreign and domestic

Bylined to: Patrick J. O'Donoghue Venezuela donates 1 million barrels of oil to the United States of America http://www.vheadline.com/readnews.asp?id=45807 more like 65 million $$$$ ... don't know if it is accurate or if it was refused... But they also gave this: Venezuela's CITGO pledges US $1 million towards hurricane relief efforts and CITGO presents checks for US$8 million to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Ya Fuckinnnn terrarissss |
Put it this way:
- He has some PR advisers, and they tell him to refuse help, because it will make him look weak and that he can't take care of his own people. AND/OR - He act like a paranoia and precaution girl in a bar, that say no for drinks, because it will bind her for a talk (diplomacy). ........ so, who will pay the price? |
What on earth does this have to do with Saddam Hussein? lol

He's already refused or ignored numerous offers from many different sources! I can't think of one word for a leader who is so proud he deny's his people help. It's never had to be said before. Unfucking believable!
And this isn't propaganda or exageration, it is fact. Yet people still "love Bush".... Who's more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him. :2 cents: |

The town affected by the mudslides back in 1999 still hasnīt recovered.Wonder if Chavez had accepted the help back then, that town would have fully recovered. I also remember that happened after about 5 days of HEAVY rain.Chavez didnīt evacuate the town because there were elections that week and he didnīt want to pospone them. What a great humanitarian... |

Either way south america has it's own share of problems and they really should be using that money to help out their own people. |

We had big floods in february were lots of people were killed and many more lost their homes.Hundreds if not thousands of these homeless people are still living in refuges and stadiums while Chavez is paying for a satellite for his new TV station (telesur),is buying other countryīs debts (argentina) and buying ships and giving away OUR oil to Cuba and other countries (Jamaica for one). He even had the nerve to pay for 250 houses in Cuba while hundreds of venezuelans are still living in big warehouses and are without jobs. |

how could all these leaders think of their egos before thinking of the benefits that their people will be getting with that help? the president should look into what is really happening with his people right now. in this situation, they should always set aside the political issues that they are having, instead, help each other. In that way, more people will be benefited!

I donīt like Bush either. What many people blinded by Chavezī international propaganda canīt see is that he is still an authoritarian ex-military man,who isnīt very keen on dissent. This guy is not too far from being a dictator. The only difference is that unlike Pinochet ,he is a leftist authoritarian.Same thing really, for those of us living in Venezuela. |
Maybe he could help those people with his own pocket... hehehe (joke)
Dont know the main reasons but I guess he had better accept it not for the gratitude but for the sake of all the victims... anyway USA is still a powerful country! |
Why don't they just donate it to the red cross?
The US can't be dealing with every country that wants to donate $100k or 5 million or whatever. The US government has more important things to do like get a billed passed that creedits $10 billion towards relief. |
its not confirmed - but I suspect that he will also reject the 1100 doctors that Castro offered from Cuba

Quote:
05 September 2005 HAVANA: Cuban president Fidel Castro put on display some 1500 doctors equipped with medical supplies today in hopes of persuading arch-enemy the United States to allow them to treat victims of Hurricane Katrina. Castro, in a televised meeting with the doctors, said the United States had not responded to his offer to send medical workers and 26 tonnes of supplies to the devastated US Gulf Coast. He first made the offer public during a Television presentation on Friday, saying political enmity should be put aside during such a crisis. The doctors, each with a green rucksack filled with emergency medicines, were brought to Havana over the weekend, Castro said, and were ready to leave at a moment's notice. The Cuban leader read out news stories describing a lack of medical attention for Katrina refugees and those still trapped in Louisiana and Mississippi a week after the storm hit. "These doctors could all already be there providing their services," Castro said. "Forty-eight hours have passed and we still haven't received any response to our offer...We will wait patiently as many days as are necessary," he said. They Yankees donated $1000000 today.
I'm sure they didn't offer it to the government through the media. Hell.. that one candian singer donated $1000000 by herself. I don't think she called up the white house and offered it. |
Has anybody here on GFY offered money directly to the US government?
I'm wondering if the whitehouse has denied you guys too |

In other words, people that could be saved if USA accepted help, is dying so Bush can get a boost in his ego |
