Anyone else has experience moving to a country outside of north america?

why Japan? i've never moved out of the country but have traveled quite a bit. good luck with the move!

If you are leaving in 7days, you stuff is fucked. You have to ship large items in a shipping container, and that can take a week or more to get set up. Depending on the docks. Good luck.

I won't buy a car in japan until I get used to driving on the wrong side of the road! everytime I'm in a cab there, my hearts stops everytime we turn (>_<)

I gave away and sold most of my furniture. I need to decide what to bring, and it has to fit into 2 suitcases

well.. it would also be helpful if you would understand nippongo.. since you would be living there.. but it's a cool place.. nice sceneries especially outside the bustling cities.. that is if youre into the whole nature thing.. ganbatene!!

I have friends and a girlfriend there. I've got a 6 months visa, which i can extend to 1 year, so I'll see how it goes in the first year, then I might stay longer or come back. We'll see! :)

awesome! exactly what i did when i took the plunge to thailand... my old roomie ended up with some big screens, art, bedroom sets, steroes and a 21" computer monitor hahaha

i got SO LUCKY when my next door neighbor came over the the garage sale and was like 'oh, i always wanted a porsche, this one is cute, are you selling it?' (she was a chick)... it wasnt even detailed or ready to be sold yet and she ended up buying it the next week.... God was watching over me that week...
