This is a great contest that is open to creativity and fun.

Whoever comes up with the best contest idea that we use will win $300!! PLUS there can be more than one winner because we always need cool contest ideas.

We will select your contest based upon the following features:

1. Good prizes - Cash or cool items
2. Excitement factor
3. Promotion of our program name: DatingGold.com
4. High visibility and brand promotion
4. Would not violate GFY rules


So this is a challenge for everyone, come up with the best idea and if we use it we will pay you $300. You can win more than once.

small prizes can keep posting healthy -- preventing consequtives (have small prizes, like a tshirt or something like every few hundred posts)
offer something like bonus money on top of every sale for everyone that bumps the thread on a regular basis.
offer free hats or something for new webmasters
give away free memberships for members to wack off to
talk to the webmasters personally -- earn their trust -- be human

Give away something such as a corvette, or a vacation heh

btw, giving away free clothing is also GREAT promotion.

every 500 posts get a free t-shirt or hat
posts 69, 170, 690 and 1100 get 100$
posts 1700, 2500, 3000 get 300$
posts 5000 gets an ipod
everybody bumping the thread regularly gets free membership at Dating Gold
post 7000 and 10,000 also gets an ipod

posts 3500, 4100, 4700, 5500, 6200, 7000, 7400, 8200, 9400 get $50

Maybe set it up so getting a free member-ship requires atleast 100 posts in the thread

Old fashion contest.
1.Cash prizes for every 100 or 200 posts a little bigger for the ones at 1,000, 2,000 and so on.
2. Will keep the thread on top for the 10 days.
3. In the initial post talk about your program and have a good title.
4. Thread on top with Dating Gold in title and the first post in the thread describing the program.

Downside.
Impossible to know if it will stay on top or how active the thread will be, the usually contest whores will be the ones posting the most.


Sig contest.
1. Random drawing of cash prizes for everyone with Dating Gold banner/textlink in the sig (double prizes for banners)
2. Increase in the amount of Dating Gold sigs.
3. Daily drawings with announcement of the winner(s)
4. A good amount of threads about Dating Gold.

Downside:
Hard to know how many that will participate changing their sig.

You could do a contest where people have to come up with the best idea for a GFY contest. If you use their idea, they win a cash prize.

Ask a question once a day at a specific time about your program. Make it so that the question is kinda tough, but so that the answer can be found by looking through your site. Give a prize to the first contestant to answer the question correctly, or to the contestant who answers the most questions correctly.

If you're giving prizes daily, they can be things like cash, PSPs, iPods, LCD screens, etc. If you're going for one large prize, it could be something like a plasma TV or a laptop.

This way, you get the contestants to sign up for your program and familiarize themselves with all aspects of your program, including how it's run, how the stats area works, what features you offer, etc.

Contests have been limited to 7 days in length and a maximum of 100 posts per participant effective tomorrow.

Last man standing/survivor.
1. Daily question/riddle/final score of a game/task that needs to be solved. Answer to be send to a mail. Everyone with the correct answer goes on to the next round.
2. Something for everyone to play in.
3. With the right set up it could generate a lot of attention.
4. Have prizes for the first one to send in the answer that day. The ones still standing the last day have to predict the last 3-4 numbers in the Dow Jones volume closest one wins.

Downside:
Probably will be some idiot answering the question ruining it for everyone. Exposure hard to predict.

3. Everyone has a chance to win the more posts the bigger the chance.

every 50th poster wins free gear plus a chance to win a paid trip to webmaster access. Every 500th also gets a psp, lcd monitor, or ipod. Whoever wins the webmaster access trip also gets a psp, lcd, and ipod :thumbsup

For all contest have prizes like traffic/gallery spots, scripts, cash, Ipods anything a webmaster could use to make his life easier.

Ok well here is my idea.


The goal and prizes
The point of this contest is to reach 50 or 100 posts in contest thread. If someone reaches 50 posts - he will be paid 50$. If someone reaches 100 postcount in contest thread - he will be paid additional 100$. Other prizes for example, post #666 wins Sony PSP, post #1337 wins an Ipod, post #2005 wins 200 bucks, post #5000 wins Sony PSP and 200$ (this combination is only my proposition..).

The idea
Contest starts with rules and other basic contest info and ends up with a word, item name of anything that can be found in home. For example "an apple". Second person needs to find an apple in home, put it on a table, write his GFY name as well as "DatingGold.com rocks!!" (can be changed) on a piece of paper and make a photo of both, one pic. Pic needs to be resized, uploaded and posted on GFY of course. You need to think about next item which can be found in home and write it under the pic you post. The idea is to be the fastest. If anyone already posted a photo of apple, you don't post it, you're too late. It is possible that some people can post photos at this same time and we have two apples - second one is void and doesn't count to user's postcount.
And here we go, one by one.. these items can be anything, for example washing machine, a fork, computer mouse, tv, EURO cable, toilet paper, metro ticket, bottle of pepsi, milk, simply anything, but needs to be popular thing that can be found in most houses.

The rules
- You can't post a posts without a photos.
- You can't post a posts without a photos made by yourself. If you do, you are no longer taking part in this contest.
- If you already reached 50 or 100 postcount, you won and you are out.
- If for any reasons on special winning spots (#666, $1337..) the post is not regular, prize is taken by following regular one.
- If for any reasons there are "2 posts of apples" and 2 different "next things to photo", the first one is the correct one.
- the "next things to photo" can recur, but all photos must be different.
- for any type of cheating, you're out of contest and you win nothing.
- Contest ends after 10 days or after #5000 post is reached.


All numbers can be changed.
