1) Show the most places / domains they are promoting your site
2) Show the newest registered domain where they are promoting your site
3) Show the oldest registered domain where they are promoting your site
4) Give a prize to the affiliate who posts in the thread who has been an affiliate the longest.
5) Give a Prize to the person who gives the best tip/secret/hint on how to promote your program
6) Give a prize to a wildcard GFY member who wants to photoshop or make a real fansign for your program.
7) Give a prize to the person who can create the best looking gallery to promote your program
8) Give a prize to the best looking female webmaster in the thread. (proof necessary)
9) Give a Prize to the affiliate that lives the furthurests from your headquarters
10) Give a prize to the affiliate that lives the closest to your headquarters.
11) Give a prize to the affiliate with the wildest/best non-competing sig.
12) Give a prize to the affiliate who can post the picture of the coolest computer / work environment setup they have. (your program on the monitor of course)
13) Give a prize to the affiliate who can post the worst computer / work environment set up they have.

Cash to post numbers

100, 250, 500, 750, 1000 etc...

If affiliates from all 50 states show up and post in the thread by the time the post numbers come up, you will double the prize.

or

If X number of brand new affiliates send a sign up during the contest, you double the prize money

Draw random thread posting affiliate names and post numbers after the contest to give prizes. (Must be moderated by independant authority)


Prizes = Purchased traffic / text links / gallery spots

All of these ideas are new and would attract new webmasters while keeping the interest high enough to keep the thread bumped. No lithuanian surfer kids should be interested in any of these prizes.

Some webmasters may get on ICQ and tell other webmasters about the contest to get them winning and promoting your program again.

Alright, I've been thinking of this for awhile previously to this question being asked and have came up with several good ideas.


What these contests all come down to is exposure for the affiliate program it represents, with Dating Gold in mind I bring to you a contest:


- we want to achieve maximum exposure and new affiliate sending traffic towards DatingGold.com ( new rules state that contests will be 10 days in length ) so for 10 days we want to remain high on the first page of GFY and with Sigs of contestants being aimed towards DatingGold.com
and lets do this with an advertising budget of no more than $10,000 and with a solid long term ROI to DatingGold of at least 200%


-we want people to have fun and make cash. Whats fun ? making cash ! so lets do that at the same time !



Variables of the contest:

at least 1 prize per page (50 posts) this retains interest and keeps the contest flowing at a pace to ensure maximum affiliates and/or page views

multiples of 50 wins 10$ multiples of 100 wins 25$ intervals of 250 wins 50$ and intervals of 1000 wins 100$

posts 50, 150, 350,450....... and so on wins 10$
posts 100,200,300,400......... and so on wins 25$
posts 250,500,750,1250........ and so on wins 50$
posts 1000,2000,3000 ......... and so on wins 100$

ok that covers constant contest bumping, now lets cover fun with a ruleset unique and interesting:

I like the multiply idea.

How about building on this:

Lets you win post number 100, then you double your winnings if you get 115 also.

If not, the next prize grows. etc. webmasters will be working against the winner to keep them from getting the 115 spot.


That helps keep the contest when most die right after a winning post.

How about a picture taking contest.

Have folks take pics of general items found around the home, have them include a sign with Dating Gold on it with the date included. Give points to the first person to post the required pic.
Have the contest for given amount of time, giving out a new pic every half hour or so.
Have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd most points, also have hidden post number prizes chosen in advance.
This would have to be run/monitored by someone from Dating Gold.
Now the amount of the prizes would of course depend on how much of a budget you have at that time.

1. Credits with other sites. Like $100 of traffic from site "xxxxxx" or free listing spot on the hun, or $500 worth of free design from site "xxxx" etc.. Grand prize would be pay double on sales for whole week if they make a new account, 3x on sales if they were an advertiser before posting in thread.

2. Have 1 winner for every 100 post. Winning post for first 1 - 100 could be the last 2 numbers of the nasdaq the day after contest wins. 101 - 200 could be the winner score of the winning team of basketball game the next night (last two number if they go over 100) . 201 - 300 the same game but the team that lost. 301 - 400. Offical temp. in LA for 2 days after contest ends (last 2 digits) 401 - 500 offical low temp for LA for the same day, etc... This would be only if they displayed a fan sign or video for each post...

3. 2 categories.... Fan Signs and Video Clips (mini commercials)
Fan Signs: simple enough. who every makes the most creative sign or displays the sign in the most creative way. Same thing for video clips.
...... and then you guys could pick the top 3 overall from all of them, even if they did not win from the random events above. You select the final 3 and let everyone here vote on the winner that will add more excitement.

This is the exact contest I am going to run in about a month when I buy a top spot ad here. The prizes will help the advertiser in most cases, you give someone a credit on buying traffic, they might send traffic to your program. The way the winers are randomly selected from different events will be fun and will bring excitement for days and days AFTER the contest is over. And there will be a ton of pictures and videos that you can use for promos on your site from what everone submitted.

A contest for the funniest adult personal ad. You can use any picture you want for the ad (no animals, sheep, donkeys) :1orglaugh it doesn't have to be you. Can be a photchopped picture of someone you know.

The judging will be based on the picture, headline, and total profile.

Have a thread with all the submitted profiles so everyone can judge. Top 5 will win.

Prize I think should be cash.
Give out cash that is equivalent to a nice toy such as an lcd monitor or ipod or whatever. That way people who wanted cash will get it, and people who wanted a new toy can buy it.
