He took on Rich Gannon, an MMA fighter.

The funny thing is they disallowed grappling, submissions, knees to the head and everything else they could think of to give Kimbo a chance and Gannon still whipped his ass.

It was a hell of a brawl though.

I haven't seen the fight myself, but Sherdoggers are saying it was pretty dodgy... Gannon put Kimbo in a guillotine, they stopped the fight and somehow Gannon has to start with Kimbo mounted on him, shit like that.

That guy has said some other stuff he could not back up. Besides, the pics look pretty real to me. :2 cents:

Since no grapling was allowed, they had to start over again.

word on Shergod is Laimon got a 1.5 second sidemount and then ran the rest of the match. Wouldn't engage on the ground AT ALL.

thanks but he's always been slow sloppy and out of shap, just because you look in shape doesn't mean you have the cardio to get in a real fight.

Kimbo in his last backyard braawl look to be in good shape. Nothing sloppy there.

If this was a true MMA fight, anything goes, Kimbo would have been KTFO in less than 5 minutes.

You wont hear me disagreeing with you. The other videos i have seen of Kimbo where not impressive at all. You see guys like him all over and can fight just about the same. He is nothing special in my book.

in less than 20 seconds. Gannon had the guillotine right off the bat, and also could have ground and pounded him at almost any time it looked like.

Kimbo's friends were trying to get him killed, Gannon was just holding him up and punching him at will at the end...

I stopped by his gym before a UFC a few months ago.

Met your boy Miller briefly too- he's as wired as I heard. Great fighter though.

The guy has two things going for him, he's got a hell of a punch and a hell of a chin but he's no real fighter, just a street fighter. And on the streets you would be hard pressed to find anyone that can punch as hard or take a punch like Kimbo, but MMA is something totally different. Gannon fought him on the closest of his terms that he could and kicked his ass, let's see Kimbo fight Gannon on Gannon's terms and that's a 1 minute fight, Kimbo choked out and with a arm out of socket.

I agree with that. Isn't a streetfight anything goes? This shit is just a bare nuckles boxing match.


They should really have the area where the fighters fight roped off, instead of having a bunch of dipshit spectators running in and stuff.
