Not sure how to describe it, a bit wilder than beef i suppose

Shoehorn! 10-11-2004 07:15 PM

Awesome man, that looks fun as hell. Plus killing is always a good time. Where was that by the way?

evildick 10-11-2004 07:17 PM

I don't care for moose meat. Kinda gamey. Deer meat is great though. I'd rather eat it than beef.

Rob 10-11-2004 07:17 PM

Never been hunting or been much of a hunter but those seem like nice catches. What did you use to bag them?

I've been thinking about planning a hunting trip just so I can experience it at least once in life. I hear it's great! Nice job and that scenery looks picturesque! :thumbsup

cold_ice 10-11-2004 07:18 PM

Did any of them put up a fight?

MrIzzz 10-11-2004 07:18 PM

this pic was calling for it:)

Nice haul... and good to hear that you're consuming your kill.

Yeah, moose is good eating!

yeah but i'm kinda lazy right now, i'll bump this thread to shock some more hippies tomorrow, i'll check if i have other pics worth showing.

We hunt moose near Quebec city, about 50 km north. Our territory is crawling with them. I didn't get a chance to fire, my dad and my cousin each killed one using 7mm rifles. We were allowed only 2.

It would be much more "sporting" if you took on the animal without a firearm!:321GFY

mailman 10-11-2004 07:35 PM

I got no problems with hunting but i never seen pics like that... thats just NASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTY! :(

The meat wouldn't taste very good if you had to beat it to death with a club.

Yeah lemme guess. Bow? crossbow? Trap?

I prefer not to let my prey suffer and end it's pain as quickly as possible.

But THAT is what hunting's all about. It's not just the thrill of the kill but the consequences of it as well.

wdsguy 10-11-2004 07:37 PM

looks tasty

it's weird how people get their shorts all in a knot when someone gets beheaded in Iraq or whatever, but not when an animal gets disembowled in GFY pics...

think about that the next time you put on a pr of leather shoes...or eat a hambuger... have you ever seen a slaughter house???

most tree huggers don't understand that the wildlife dept has to issue permits to harvest the game.. or they will over populate an area.... and bad things happen.. like more car accidents.. and strays ending up in peoples yards eating thier landscaping...

and sounds like Dildozer is going to eat his kill... he didn't shoot them just to mount... cuz those racks are pretty wimpy ;)

We kill mostly for the meat, though a bigger rack woulda been nice. Still the meat is better when they're 2-3 years old

That's like comparing apples to oranges. It's not a fair comparison.

People hunt every day and it's a multi-million dollar sporting industry supported and enjoyed by millions of people. Beheading people is not. :2 cents:

I will be bear hunting next month.

glamourizing it is not, that was my point... yes we know people get beheaded every day, and yes we know people hunt helpless animals, but we don't need to see pics of either activity on GFY

Lange 10-11-2004 08:11 PM

Damn, I haven't had Mooseburger since living in Alaska.

ummm good stuff

Richard - Triplexcash 10-11-2004 08:42 PM

Congrats!

Never killed one, but ate plenty of moose meat from friends while living in Alaska.

Not my favorite, but did break up the salmon and halibut routine!

Understandable. However, it's something that they are proud of and consider them "Trophies" therefore I can't reprove them for doing so. I understand your comparison but I still think it's reaching.

Drake 10-11-2004 08:46 PM
