It's no different than buying beef at the local market. An animal had to die for you to eat it. It's easier for many of us to stomach it when we don't have to kill it ourselves. Some people enjoy the sport of killing. As long as the meat is eaten and as long as wild stocks are not endangered, and the animal suffers as little as possible, there is nothing wrong with it.

It's more of a problem than people realize. Back home they open up extra seasons and allow extra tags every now and then just to help with the over-population issue. I know of one city that actually hires snipers every year to help take out some of the deer running around. The meat isn't wasted either, they donate it to the homeless shelters.

Any hunter that wastes their meat is crazy. Even if they don't care for the meat, they can easily sell it for top dollar. I LOVE venison, elk is a little too gamey for my taste though.

You're not allowed to sell game meat in Canada and with reason, would probably lead to more poachers.

But yeah overpopulation is controlled through hunting

I'm sure we have similar laws here, doesn't stop anybody from selling a pound of meat to the guys at work.

I know people who got caught for stuff like that, they were asked to sell some trout to 2 undercover park rangers lol

To add to this. There is no humane way to kill. If you eat meat, the meat you're eating came from killing an animal probably suffered a lot worse than these moose. I'm not even going to get into vegetarians (we're omnivores because we're suppose to eat meat and meat is good for us).

That said, I have no doubt that many if not most hunters are men with little dicks that need to get their kicks by taking down a more powerful animal than themselves. But it's like guys who need to drive big cars to make up for their penis. There is nothing wrong with it.

Well the pipes freeze in the winter, but you can get there by snowmobile and make a hole in the lake's ice to get water. It's not very convenient so we rarely go.

But that cottage is one of my favourite place to go, it's my dad's and his brother's, I have my name on the membership list now too, soon i'll probably chip in to have access to it regularly.

Log cabins like that have something that's hard to describe, they're so cozy.

Hunting is more than killing, it's spending time in nature, the thrill of calling a moose and having it respond is crazy too.

Don't think the moose comes on a silver platter, they're wise beasts.

My dad shot his with 7mm magnum and my cousin got his with a 308 i believe, not totally sure. I had a 308 myself.

I dumped a girlfriend i was serious with because her father was an avid hunter. Hunters are fucking cowards. Go hunt something that can fire guns and crossbows back at you, not defensless animals! Go to a fucking firing range to shoot your weapons off (that is fun!!).

Population control: through cycles animals are either high in volume or not, at the top we're allowed to hunt them because too much population usually increases chances of disease. Not to mention the fact that oin many areas there isn't enough food to survive thus a lot of them starve or are too weak to survive past the winter.

Delicious meat: yummy yummy meat, trust me the meat you eat at restaurants had a far worst death than anything i've killed.

Yeah i heard those facts before. Interesting. I know people who hunt and I dont tell them I think its wrong. I hear all their hunting stories and try and just show a smile and act interested. But my xgf's fathers house was all dead animals on his walls and she was very close with him. I made up some other reasons to break it off but it was mainly the hunting.

Going back to my roots would only be necessary if supermarkets next to my house didn't exist.

Also, I doubt my primitive ancestors used rifles to kill the animals.
