marketing is the key to success... the way to advertise, the wording, the look to give the girl, surveys, .....so many..

Two explainations:
1) Different Strokes for Different Folks...not just looks, but personality, fetishes or lack thereof...a basic compatibility between the surfers "ideal" and the girl.
2) The girls you mention have that sexy co-ed next door look that is almost attainable...the girl is real enough to let the surfer imagine he may have a chance if he says the right thing and connects with her on a level that other members haven't, while still being wicked cute and sometimes out of his league.
