Ya, he's got enough going on in his life right now. Packing your bags and moving away might be a bit much at this moment.

Strife 07-15-2004 12:16 PM

damn :feels-hot

FlyingIguana 07-15-2004 12:34 PM

now he doesn't have shaq...

we'll see the mj comparisons now rofl

Rich 07-15-2004 12:52 PM

Who cares? He'll be useless without Shaq anyway, remember Penny Hardaway?

They should trade him now while they can still get a lot for him. Well, maybe they could, who knows if any team would want his baggage.

D-Money 07-15-2004 12:55 PM

The Lakers are far from being a championship team right now, but Kobe is the kind of player to build the franchise around.

I'd give them a couple years and a true big guy. They'll be in the finals then.

4Pics 07-15-2004 12:59 PM

damn, i wanted him on the clippers

n3in 07-15-2004 01:08 PM

im kinda disappointed. i was hoping he would go play for another team.

kimzar 07-15-2004 01:09 PM

fuck kobe, lakers will not will another championship with kobe being the man

D-Money 07-15-2004 01:10 PM

Bring back Phil Jackson and Jerry West.

I could deal with being Shaqless if they were in charge still.

howard 07-15-2004 01:17 PM

The LAKERS only won 50% of the games kobe played in when Shack was out in the past 5 years...

The Lakers will be lucky to win 45 games next year..

BTW--kobe could still end up in Jail--he is such an arrogant motherfucker he makes you hope he is guilty

Kobe wins games on his own.. Penny cant do that

Thats because shaq takes up so much payroll.. When he's out you have nothing left... now when hes out you add Grant, Odom, and Butler...

loverboy 07-15-2004 01:21 PM

Nevertheless, Lakers won't be a championship caliber team without Shaq around.

As much as Bryant might have been intrigued by the Clippers' young nucleus, he had to know it would have been a risk to sign on with Donald Sterling's operation. The Clippers' owner is famous for not paying his players.

LA Mike 07-15-2004 01:31 PM

So Howard you want to wager 100 bucks on this that the Lakers will make the playoffs? or how about $1000?

I think the new Lakers are better then the team last year. Yes we will strugle againts teams with big centers. But we have a better scheme to fit Kobe and Odom, and Payton. We will be running again. Look, Shaq comes in out of shape and is useless the first half of the season anyways. But this team is better. Especially if we get Malone back to share with Grant at F/C. I still think we need a big man. Not a scorer but just a big body like the Bulls had for Jordan. After Shaq and Kobe we had nobody and the Pistons took advantage of that. The singled Shaq and let him get his. The only other guy that could do anything was Kobe so they would triple team him cuz everyone else on the team sucked cuz Shaq takes up so much money. Well now thats all different..

Put your money where your obnoxious Phily mouth is :Graucho

Of course, this assumes that Bryant won't be in prison next season. There is, after all, still the small matter of his criminal trial in Colorado, which begins Aug. 27. Until Bryant walks out of court a free man, Lakers fans can't declare this latest saga over just yet.

I agree 100% with that.

What about that young dude from Washington, they're center. Brown is his last name I think. He's young and hasn't come to expectations yet, but he's supposed to be a great player. Can't the Lakers pull a move for that guy? I just think if the Lakers get a big guy, he should be young and be able to run the court.

Karl Malone is a great player still too, but I'm afraid he won't hold up a full season at his age.

Anyway, I do think the Lakers will make the playoffs. Kobes got too much heart to not let that happen.

Ross 07-15-2004 01:39 PM

How much did it cost to buy Shaq??

Very true.. I can only hope he is innocent. Both the Lakers and Clippers were quoted as saying that werent worried about Kobe's legal troubles and fully expect him to be aquitted. I'm sure they got some inside track on the court case before offering up so much money.. But you never know

The team was built to compliment Shaq .. a center... so naturally .. if the focal point of the team is not there... the team wont win as many. That should be pretty obvious...

a guard cant come in and completely carry a the team that was built around a center...

build a team around Kobe ... and then it's a matter of time before the Lakeshow gets goin again....

the only concern is.. damn... if only theLogo was still around.. he's able to build a team up from anything.

mitch kupchek sux... there better be a trade soon... we need a BIG.

Yea, I miss West too!! I'm not saying the Lakers are going to win it all but they will be a good team. We still need another peice or two. Need a big dummy center and another rebounder. And well see how Payton plays out now that there is no triangle.

Bugbee 07-15-2004 02:23 PM

shnizzle get back to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bigjb 07-15-2004 02:33 PM

LA Mikey,
I am staying in Miami now at Mandarin Oriental and there is a big ass Black Rolls Royce parked in front for what the valet guys
told me was for SHAQ DIESEL. Sorry to see him go to the Heat but have a feeling the Lakers will be 500 at best. Odom and Kobe wont get along and Payton already doesnt like Kobe.

Kobe will be jacking 35 shoots a night and the team will look
like the Sixers do with Iverson. One man band.

Like Shaq said its a "team game" Better get a Clippers jersey
since they will have similiar records.

HA!

LA Mike 07-15-2004 02:36 PM

ohhhhh... all of a sudden Shaq goes to Miami and now your a heat fan? lol......

hahahahaha

You wanna bet me too bandwagen?

bigjb 07-15-2004 02:45 PM

LMAO,,
Didnt say I was bandwagon just that Lakers will look like
the Clippers this year. I even heard Jack Nicholson sold
his tix to Billy Crystal.. HA

Whats the Bet?

Lets get it on!

:BangBang:

cold_ice 07-15-2004 02:52 PM

The Lakers will be contenders next year and will go far in the playoffs. With Shaq there they had no dept, never really had anyone that could do well off the bench.
