What's an average salary here?

This is the second year as I'm running my own business, and I have some goals as far as my personal income concerned. However, I'd like to know what is an average adult webmaster salary ( in USD per year ). In other words, what is that number that when you cross it - you're considered to be successful in the industry?

Cyborg 2.0 04-05-2004 07:15 PM

successful in the industry around 200-300k
avg way below that

asuna 04-05-2004 07:17 PM

a poster here gets aout 500-600 a month, some more

SykkBoy 04-05-2004 07:17 PM

success = more money in than money out
beyond that, it's all about personal goals and comfort levels

DR_PHIL 04-05-2004 07:17 PM

your not gonna get an accurate average

Let me re-phrase the question to maybe get a better response:

Is $200K /year ( in profits - not in revenues ) a lot around her or "OK"?

Thats more than most, and less than many.

Its also completely irrelevant.

its not a lot but its more than 99.9% of the people here make.

maxdaname 04-05-2004 07:49 PM

A buck a day, like the Dell PCs:thumbsup

Once my accountant is finished with me, I figure I'll be earning negative eighteen cents an hour.

It's more then everyone but the elite in this business

Makingcoin 04-05-2004 08:28 PM

Most people here can't even get one sale a day!

riosluts 04-05-2004 08:30 PM

yeah those are high numbers. i bet most people get like 2-3 signups per pay period. so about 10-15K. Most webmasters do this part time

Fletch XXX 04-05-2004 08:32 PM

10k month

The Heron 04-05-2004 08:33 PM

You get a salary? Damn man, that must suck... I get the PROFITS from all my hard work!

wdsguy 04-05-2004 08:34 PM

1 mil dollars

baycouples 04-05-2004 11:41 PM

The Heron,

Of course, I get a salary. My business is incorporated and I get paid as a CEO. If you're not encorporated in one way or another - you're putting yourself out there with no protection of your assets. And if you own a house or have a fat mutual fund - you may loose it all if some shit happens to you and you are in the red.

Doctor Dre 04-05-2004 11:42 PM

95 % of the ppl are making under 1k$ a month here . But the other 5-6 % are making mad bling :P

sean416 04-05-2004 11:47 PM

I dont think im quite making 200g's yet.. but why bother running a site if you're only making 200-300 a month? :2 cents:

PersianKitty 04-05-2004 11:48 PM

I used to say "You know you're there when your tax bill pays the President's salary."

baycouples 04-06-2004 01:05 AM

Doctor Dre, what is "mad bling"?

NiTe-HaWk 04-06-2004 01:20 AM

I am only making about $600 a month off sponsors but I have only been doing this part time for about a year.

at least someone is honest

Pornopat 04-06-2004 01:26 AM

On average I earn about 8k a month.
Thing are very instable though...

BaldBastard 04-06-2004 01:48 AM

If people here stopped posting so much they might make some money and forgot about the TGP thing.

How fucking hard can it be to sell the most popular product in history over the best selling vehicle in history?

You just need to decide if your in the business of giving porn away for free, in it for the money.

Ripping off webmasters is the biggest profit maker.

But Shhsh I did'nt say that

a successful entrepreneur only keeps a few bucks a month for himself (enough to make a living and have some fun) and invests every penny he can get his hands on back in his company or projects. Thats were REAL money comes from ;)

baycouples 04-06-2004 02:12 AM

mrthumbs, can't agree with you more. However, I have to admit that I'm tempted every month to increase my salary instead of putting some of those extra profits back into the business. But I've been good about it. So, I'm hoping for the best.

polish_aristocrat 04-06-2004 02:18 AM

How much do the guys earn that have just finished Harvard Business School and got a job at Wall Street?
If you earn similar amounts, but work less and in a more comfortable environment, then you are definitely succesfull.

( This is not about me, just an example that you don't have to make $250k yearly to be considered succesfull ).

Hard to say lots of Clowns on GFY just like Oracleporn who like to pimp with there Sig Money and tell Gay Stories.

Without those clowns i'd say $40-$50k a year is average wich is about $100-$150 daily
