that should be your queue to get another host ASAP

and you know I'm not fucking with you, since I'm not spamming anyone, even one of the hosts I am using right now.

Candid was bought out. New staff isn't that unusual.

It shouldn't be easier getting a sales rep than a tech. Anywhere.

Be very afraid. I've been involved in dozens or IT mergers and the quality buyouts keep the old employees around for a few weeks, give them bonuses to oil the conversion, etc. If the communication isn't good right now you can probably assume they were taken over by assholes and things will keep going south.

By any chance do the new owners have the same IP address as Globill? I hear some of the former execs there have a lot of cash to invest now.

Here is the new owner,

Dear Customer,

On behalf of the entire staff of Neutelligent, we would like to sincerely thank you for being our valued customer. We would like to let you know of important changes that have recently occurred as well as provide you a glimpse as to what the future holds.

Neutelligent is unique in a number of ways: We are especially well-known in the industry as the premier provider of high volume and high quality bandwidth solutions. With our multiple Gigabit Internet links, we have proven capable of truly handling high bursts of traffic without a hitch. Also well known is our strong financial footing that has allowed us to weather the unexpected economic storms that continue to devastate those less prepared.

The technology world continues to transform at a rapid pace. Due to our significant growth, we have always been concerned with being able to provide the tools and services that today's sophisticated customers like you require and deserve. Committed to that focus and aware of manifold changes occurring in the hosting industry, we decided some time ago to ally ourselves with a larger partner that can extend the technology and service to our customers and further improve on our unique high bandwidth hosting environment.

We are happy to announce today that we have partnered with Hostway. Hostway is one of the top five hosting providers in the world with operations and multiple data centers around the world on four continents. They are financially stable and rated #1 by various hosting industry organizations including "Tophosts" and "HostIndex". They are also known for their great technical support.

Our primary goal is to further improve and enhance your hosting experience. Our initial plans include improving the quality of our customer service and further enhancing our network. Spam mail has become a heightened concern within the hosting industry causing significant angst amongst all customers. In an effort to ensure quality service for you and your customers, we wish to convey our zero tolerance policy on all spammers. We are committed to eliminating any and all participants engaging in such practices on our network.

We assure you that your current relationship with Neutelligent remains unchanged and our service and quality of our products will continue to improve.

We thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Entire Neutelligent Staff
412 East Madison
Suite 1100
Tampa, Florida 33602

Lol, I love it. Only in the adult industry do you get "communications" that don't even have the courtesy to name the person(s) writing it.

Gotta love this business!

Neutelligent has always been behind them... or sleazebag David Marshlack

Anybody know how much it sold for?

GeXus 08-10-2003 01:31 PM

I dont know why people get all these half rate adult hosts.. Get a REAL host.. Im sorry, but how many adult hosts have you seen fail in the past year? alot!

Email [email protected]
He will set you up with a dedicated server or you can use your own server.. its all peer1 cogent bandwidth.. not 1 minute of downtime and 24/7 phone and email support.. longest time it took to return an email was about 10 minutes.

Kimmykim 08-10-2003 01:33 PM

When a company is sold, many times employees leave to go elsewhere, regardless of their function at the company. I know that David D is no longer there, and I don't think Romeo is either. Dogging on Marshlack is pretty pointless now as well, since he doesn't own it any more.

David D is gone too? hmm. i've been with them since '99, kind of a shock to find out he's gone.

Kimmykim 08-10-2003 01:36 PM

Yes, David D is gone, he is now working with FlashCash.

This is the first, and most likely, the last post I will make on GFY, regarding this issue. The point of this e-mail is to clear rumors and misconceptions about recent happenings revolving around CandidHosting and myself, David D.

I have been in the adult industry since mid 1998 and have met with most you over those years at the conventions or through various forms of networking amongst other webmasters. I helped form StrictlyHosting, then later in the formation of CandidHosting, and now I have decided to fulfull a destiny that was laid out many years ago, with FlashCash.

In early July 2003, I had 3 complete days of indepth conversations with the Jason, Becca, and Mark from FlashCash. I first met Jason and Becca in Las Vegas at the Club Utopia party during the 01/1999 Las Vegas ia2000 show and we became friends immediately. I consider the three of them to be much more than ?associates?, I consider them family. These discussions moved to an agreement shortly after the sale of CandidHosting on 7/15/2003.

CandidHosting, is and always will be as close to my heart as one of my children. This extends to the friendship I have with Dave Marshlack, the now former owner of the company. Dave taught me many things, and for that I will always be thankful to him, and his partner/my friend Hammil. The years warped by extremely fast, with walking through the doors of 412 E Madison St. being one of the best decisions I ever made.

Some of you, may be asking where this leaves CandidHosting. CandidHosting is moving into a second phase of its growth with extremely qualified people. The purchasers of the company own numerous other data centers and are focused on the growth of the company and fixing any actual or perceived problems. The new owners extended an extremely sizeable offer, that under normal situations I would have taken in a heart beat. At this point in time I feel it is more suitable to hand the reigns to new blood, as that is what the customers deserve. As that is all I was ever concerned with, the customers.

For those of you who need to contact me about any of the above, or to discuss future dealings with FlashCash, feel free to contact me at: [email protected]

It has been a pleasure working with everyone over these many years, and I would like to say a special thanks to: Steve B (100% to you), quiet, AL4A, Scott (Amp), Ray (WW), William (S-C), Josh&Penn, Mike&Bryan, Wayne A., Mark&Nat, p@rick, Rob (IMG), Mitch (N.B.), MarkD/Toolz/SteveJ, Rik/Josh/Adam, TylerP? the list could go on forever. I am hoping to work with all of you again in the future.

Thank you for your time,
David D

Daymare 08-10-2003 04:08 PM

that was nice :)

Juicy D. Links 08-10-2003 04:09 PM

David D Best of luck :thumbsup

SweetT 08-10-2003 04:14 PM

I normally do not post on other hosting company threads whether they are good or bad but I am going to break my normal rule this once....

David....

I have both publicly and privately heralded your accomplishments as a "Server God" and I am sure that you will be missed from the Candid team. I wish you luck in your new venture at Flash Cash. The team there is A-Plus in my book and I am sure they are happy that you are joining the team!

Not that I think you will ever need it, but if you ever decide to return to the hosting business please be sure to contact LBBV or myself and lets see if we can make a deal.

I dont know about everyone else, but David D. was the rudest techsupport I've ever talked to on the phone. He wouldnt even answer my apache server questions because he thought they were too stupid. He just paused over the phone for a long ass time and said "Just let us worry about the techsupport, you dont need to know that stuff"

Maybe he was fired for being an asshole to customers.

To all Candid Hosting customers:

Yes it is true Candid Hosting was sold. But not yesterday , almost 1 month ago.

I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you. Through the last 7 years I have been invovled in the Adult industry I have met many people I would consider a true friend.

Sometimes I get angry at the perception of our industry from outsiders. Candid has been a dream of mine and it was very hard for me to let go. The growth we sustained in the last 2 years was truly remarkable . The decission to sell was hard, but necessary for Candid to go to the next level. One my partner and myself thought could best be led by a much larger organization.

The company that purchased Candid already has data centers in England, Korea, Amsterdam,Canada,Chicago,Sydney,Dallas.
A Tampa data center was a perfect fit.

My vision was led by a group at candid that was truly a sales oriented group. Myself coming from a marketing backround always built companies by marketing.
My hat goes off to the team at Candid that made us what we are today Russ,Travis, John, Mark, Lauren and especially my right hand there Shane Penrod.

The tech department did a tremendous job considering How large we became in such a short time.

David D Is the most awesome friend and tech I have ever met. He carried the load of many on his shoulders and I will never forget that. I would do bussiness with him any day.

Charles our CTO did a great job , even when our network was built at 10 times the normal rate.

This all made our decission very hard, But we felt our customers deserved what this new company could provide. Although David D has moved on he is still helping in any capacity they need, And Shane , Myself , And my partner are only 1 floor below them and always willing to help.

Candid will be bigger, better, and in very capable hands.

To everyone in the industry thanks for believing in our vision. We could not have asked for a better customer base.
David G Marshlack
