Boatloads of slaves, that's for sure ...

They have long ago dispelled the slaves myth.. There has never been any supporting infrastructure found for massive amounts of slaves or anything to even support the notion it was slaves. Everything points to regular skilled workers doing it.

Doesn't sound that convinching. Probably plausible, but awful complicated.. and what is more important; seems unnecessary complicated.

Supporting infrastructure suggests the exact opposite of slaves.

i would think building pyramids per se is unnecessarily complicated - opposed to just dumping their pharaos dead bodies into the Nile

This might have been the thing, but the sneaky pharaos built the pyramids while they were still alive; usually the first thing that they did once in power was to start building that final resting place. As the pyramid, etc. is already there.. the subjects are just "Whatever.. let's dump him in that pyramid as it is already in there." :)

I thought it might be a waste of time watching the video, but in the end I thought it was very informative. Glad I didn't see any mention of the StarGate.

The point being is it's a fairytale to keep people controlled. No different than any of the other fairy tales from other religious cults. It's all about controlling the masses. Just like the Egyptians used their Pharaoh gods to keep their people in line and building their pyramids.

there were not always laws and when there were they couldn't always be enforced. I religious fear of God worked with out laws on most people.

It still works in many places today where there is no law.

yes, you are right. the "fear of God", being judged by others etc "makes those laws work". It's an effective legal and moral framework that is so successful, it continues to thrive today and guides BILLIONS of people in their behavior. Ancient Egypt had a very good legal system and yet, religion worked much better as it requires no policing and people on the whole, act better with no oversight.

People love to say "religion is about control" but never define who was controlling who and why,... nor do they have any plausible story to explain that claim . Ancient Pharaohs did not create monotheistic religions as they themselves promoted themselves as Gods and had very different specific beliefs, all very different than the Jewish people. Nor is it ever explained how every culture everywhere throughout the history of man, has had religion and spirituality. I mean, thats quite a coincidence that every society ever had the exact same concept and idea of how to "control" the "masses"... from the worlds largest European and Middle Eastern cities to the tiniest inhabited Pacific islands.

Actually the Pharaohs were considered the "equals" of gods. They still worshiped imaginary gods it's just the Pharaohs were the gods on Earth or gods among men.

As for the Bible it was very much written by the Jews. It's not called the "Hebrew Bible" (ie the old testament) for nothing. Hence my original statement the Jews wrote it and somewhere along the line someone put together the various books into one and used it to further push along Christianity as book of law if you will.

I mean lets get real, many of the stories are just stories rehashed from religious beliefs which even pre dated the Hebrew scrolls. Then of course every major player just happened to be "Jewish" in their modern rehash of old stories.. not to mention the Jews were the chosen ones.. all from the old testament mind you.. :winkwink:

even if there were massive amounts of manpower from slave labor, the pyramids couldn't be built in that age without some serious smarts guiding the workforce. So it's highly possible the number of people working on it was fewer than previously thought.

You are missing the point. It is a great book. It has had a huge impact. Factual/accurate were not the metrics.
