GFY/AVN MMA Fight Vegas Update

Ok...the guys and gals are working to make this happen. So this could become a reality very soon. This would be EPIC if it went down.

Now I need some people to step up. Dont want to waste all this time and money if no one is willing to participate in a friendly MMA style fight.

Who here is interested? Free entry into InterNext and AVN for all fighters!!!!

Time to man up! Or woman up! Couple of chicks fighting would be cool.

MMA fighters don't choose their fights because they want to beat someone up for something they don't like about them. They choose fights to become MMA champions, and there is a fight progression to do that.

Besides, I don't think anyone that would do this actually trains, so you're asking for injuries.

That said, if someone is going to take their chances, I'll watch it. LOL.

I do not think he is looking for MMA fighters, I think he is looking for GFYer who would like to do some fun exhibition fighting.

I am in! If Tim (TheHand) is still up for it we were scheduled to go at it. I know he hurt his knee, but hopefully he will be healed by then. Tuff getting old.

Unless its a grudge match I dont think anybody is going to be going 100% trying to kill the other person. Most off this will be ground fighting so I dont anticipate any injuries, but I have great medical insurance.

I don't think there is anyone in my weight class (beyond fat class).

I have immense respect for people who are able to fight within a set of prearranged rules and who can tone it down enough to train/compete at it. It's a temperament I've never had. The small handful of times I've ever been in a physical fight I was trying to seriously injure or kill the other person. Hopefully you can get people to be honest enough with themselves to know if they can or can't fight with a sense of 'good sportsmanship.'

To clarify, I meant the general lack of innovation and the incessant pissing and moaning and blaming others and continual declarations that the industry is "dead"

Who in their right mind would fight you? You have over 60lbs on me, and I'm not small.


Boxing is not safer. There's stats upon stats to back this up.

With that said, anyone who doesn't train, will not train for this, is overweight, out of shape, and delusional enough to think they can fight MMA should not do this. Before you even let the thought cross your mind, go to a MMA or BJJ gym near you and ask to spar with one of their students. If you find yourself out of breath and tapping like a drum, forget fighting MMA, go back to fighting for food at the Buffets.

Whatever the case, I hope you video this one!

Glen, it's fighting, people get hurt. As for safety, you can do a simple google search and find multiple sources of MMA being safer than boxing. Or you can simply look up the deaths associated with Boxing vs MMA. It's extremely one sided in favor of MMA being safer.

Jeff, he'd kill you. I only say this because you're my friend. If Steve and I were in class, and he humbly asked me to roll, I'd tell him to go fuck himself. In a loving way, of course.

Just kidding, I'd roll with him, feet on hips the whole time. NO way that behemoth gets to put all his weight on me. In MMA, it would just flat out suck getting punched ala GnP. Either way, the whole episode would hurt. I'd rather just pummel Steve with kisses and hugs.
