Yay - I Have Broken The 20 A Day Barrier...

I now take 21 pills a day - I fucking rattle when I walk...

My BP was 179/115 yesterday - So before you ask - Yes, I do need them.....

Its a bit scary though - I am 'only' 43...

L-Pink 03-02-2014 09:11 AM

Well that's not good. You need to change something!

Putting CyberSEO on ignore would cut my blood pressure by 25% I am sure...

Sly 03-02-2014 09:26 AM

What is the underlying cause of your high blood pressure?

Bryan G 03-02-2014 09:33 AM

You drink a lot right? That would be one cause right off the bat for high BP

Number 1 would be fitness levels of course - I also worry - I worry a lot...

That doesn't help - Its a big picture though - I can't blame it on one thing - That would be too easy...

I was on a bender one weekend and had a check up on the monday. Dr said my BP was high. 170/ something cannot remember. Anyhow she did not know why considering I did not smoke was very active etc. She hooked me up to a BP monitor that I had to wear for 24hrs. Long story short my BP was fine it was just high that morning because of excessive drinking.

Vendzilla 03-02-2014 09:38 AM

I would look at the meds you are taking, there is no reason for that many meds for one thing, unless you are taking them for other reasons as well. I have high BP, but it's because I need to lose weight. I've been on a low carb diet for a few weeks and it's working and been walking a lot. Tough when you sit at your laptop all day.

I'm on three meds

Do you have a BP machine?

They are not all for my BP - I am Bipolar so a lot are for that - I have a BP machine but I tend to avoid using it - It stresses me out even more...

I have stopped drinking beer so hopefully that will help - I have a scary beer belly.....

Hey Vend

Have you heard of Wheat Belly? This diet works wonders. This is basically the coles notes version of the book.

I stopped drinking beer pretty much, now it's just rum! And rum has zero carbs.

I get stressed when someone else is doing my blood pressure because the normal size cuff doesn't always work on me, my doctor uses a leg cuff on me.
My BP machine came with a big cuff and is pretty accurate. I just checked my BP because of this thread and it's 125/95 right now

Just read that, thanks
I have cut out all carbs, which means no wheat products, I only eat meat, veggies and cheese. No processed food at all. I have some low carb ice cream for when I really need a sweet

That's pretty good - It could indicate you are a bit dehydrated though - The difference is 30 and that's quiet an important figure - Its worth looking it up...

Just started drinking a lot of water. Just got a new fridge with water and ice in the door. Trying to stay away from soda completely, but I have to have a coke zero cherry from time to time.

VikingMan 03-02-2014 10:05 AM

drink a green smoothie every morning

HerPimp 03-02-2014 10:23 AM

Nothing beats the gerson therapy diet, one week on it and you will be cured.

How about you cut your pointless posts on GFY down to half, and spend the same time on your fitness, rather than complaining about how hard your (and you mums) life is? That will benefit yourself and GFY equally.

You have made this point before - So I have to ask - Why do you click on my threads?..

It takes 100ths of a second to scroll past my posts and minutes to read and then bitch about them.....

I can only assume you enjoy reading them...

No, I hope one day you actually read some of the replies, also those where you have to rethink your current way of living.

... If you want to get better that is. Because I belive most of your topics are made because you feel sorry for yourself, and want other people to tell you that the problems are not your fault, when in fact you are the ONLY reason your life is like this.

That is why I belive you enjoy my replies, because that gives you one more reason to blame everyone else for your problems.

Not if you substitute it for wine instead.

You are partially correct - I do feel sorry for myself - What I get from GFY though is that I am pretty normal - Other people have the same problems - They share their experiences and I do listen, I have been known to actually take advice from people here...

Also GFY has an element of Soap Opera about it - People like a good Soap Opera.....

You can fix this. Number one doesn't even have to be fitness in my book, but you do need to move for at least 30 mins a day (driving a car around doesn't count!). It's quite simple:

1. STOP worrying. It doesn't help and is POISON for the mind. If you don't know how to stop worrying, work out until you fall over every day. That will stop you or simply make a rule that every time you start to worry, you have to do as many push-ups as you can (or eat a whole carrot). Something. Stick with it.

2. Drink water instead of whatever you are drinking instead of water.

3. Work out / move around for at least 30 mins a day.

4. Eat very little and only healthy stuff (= max 600 calories) two days a week.

5. No drugs, no alcohol - at least not more than once a week.

And if you smoke, stop. Even weed, regardless of what pot-heads might argue, weed is not healthy. It just isn't.

You are too young to have that kind of blood pressure.

sandman! 03-02-2014 11:43 AM

that sucks :2 cents::2 cents:

Thanks for taking the time - I agree about the weed especially - Its a disaster for me...

The good news is that you won't have to do it much longer no matter what you decide to do.

georgeyw 03-02-2014 12:07 PM

So I just looked up your BP, you are in the highest category! Stop drinking and start running bloke!

I need to organize someone to post when I finally snuff it - It would be terrible if I died and nobody here noticed...

ctggls 03-02-2014 01:19 PM

Off topic: Vendzilla , just eating won't help reduce fat , you must do at least 30 min of workout to see better results. Walking is good but it won't dobmuch. Try swimming if you have a nearby pool.. It helps with cardio and there's no pressure on the joints.

Manfap 03-02-2014 01:24 PM

thats crazy, i dont take 20 pills a year.

Get yourself over to Spain, and spend a few months just walking up and down the beach few hours everyday.

People cheer for winners. No one remembers the loser. Why not choose life and get it together? Eat right, exercise and start working on stress management. If you don't care about your own life, no one else is going to.

It's hard to imagine being 43 and being ok with having a heart attack at any second.

You really feel you have nothing to live for?

Penny24Seven 03-02-2014 01:32 PM

do you worry about getting the aids from having your ass plowed? That might be part of the problem

Sorry if it comes over harsh, but it is what it is.. I like you, and do wish you well, and hope that one day you start to take 100% responsibilty for every thought, action, reaction, and response you choose to make :pimp

I'm just finishing setting up my gym in my garage. I love having a 4 car garage. Always was the plan.

I saw my brother last week, at 50, he has a six pack. Going into the same regiment he is using, I'm bigger than he is, but we are both built the same, so I know this will work.

armysmoke 03-02-2014 02:09 PM

I have to take 3 pills a day for BP, cholesterol and acid reflux. I could not imagine having to take 21 pills per day.

There is that little problem of all alcohol being converted to sugars, i.e. carbs.
