Do you belive the universe is part of somethin much larger? Like we are a cell on something HUGE?
I'm a non believer in the Jesus Christ, hocus-pocus shit, but it irks me to think that we serve a greater purpose even being that of a parasite or a unicellular task... and I mean the whole universe as one single cell.
What are your thoughts on this? The wife is gone for two days and the shrooms are just beginning to kick in. Blow my fucking mind. I mean come on... it has to be bigger than us, and I mean way bigger. Time is relative to those that are personally observing it so basically a 250 year old oak tree would laugh at use being alive for 80 or so and that hummingbird on your porch spends it's two years of life (I have no fucking idea what the lifespan is of a hummingbird is, just using it as an example) enjoying it's like as if it were 80 when it dies. WTF!??? |
There is no gravity, the earth sucks.
|
Finally I agree with you Harmon; our universe is a small part of something much much larger
|
After reading the first sentence I was going to say, yes, sometimes I feel like this on LSD/mushrooms/etc.. 'Unity' ...
But I don't believe neither in the zombie carpenter and his dad above the clouds who always watches you and decides if you go to hell or heaven or whatever. I can wish you nothing else, but to Have a Nice Trip. |
I believe we are all actually a science eperiment.

they say "put ice on it" because we all came from ice. we like ice cream and cold beer and this is true. the sun is the enemy. fuck the sun.
|
i think the universe is all there is, not a part of something bigger.
|
I have no clue. But I have to admit what we have is amazing. Or maybe I just think too much when I am working out or riding my bike.
Think about this for a moment.... Somehow humans were born and we were able to fend for ourselves and figure out we had to eat. If you put a two day old baby in the forrest alone and walk away, will he be able to grow into a full adult? How did humans come about - which came first, the chicken or the egg? How can human life become life if we didn't have a mother to give us birth? Something doesn't add up. |
There's overwhelming evidence that our universe is just one of many. Science has probed the boundaries of this new hypothesis, and great gains have been made recently. For me to reject the evidence would be very close-minded.

what if our known universe, made up of all the stars to our furthest reach are just molecules of a spark from something much larger?
dimensions are nothing but a matter of scale. |

Those stating that the universe couldn't possibly be something bigger? HOW? Have you ever looked at am atom? What does that look like? It looks like a center mass keeping it's bodies in check... until it decays... much like our solar system... much like our universe. Eventually it will die out... all of then energy and then there will be nothing left. No new stars, solar systems, galaxies, etc. All furnaces eventually burn out unless they are refueled. We are hypothetically stuck with a finite (however immense that it is) amount of fuel. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...thium_Atom.png And this isn't something bigger? We could be in dog shit, like a big fucking dogs shit and here we sit thinking that everything is so important... yet in something bigger than us it is a millisecond. THINK ABOUT IT... |

we are in the matrix

maybe we wont know until we die :2 cents:

This has merit, at least in my head. Are you a believer in a God? |

My biggest mind fuck is the concept of infinity...
|
I do believe we are of smthg much larger. :2 cents:

The truth is, nobody knows shit. Not even the smartest people on this damn planet can even begin to explain most of the questions out there.
And the thing is, that will never change... |
I believe in science, not the big man in the sky :)
|
|
Maybe we're robots and our only purpose is to create feces to fuel alien technology.
|
You're wrong. |

Scale is everything and the size of the true universe is relative. So is time.
We can not see or even think past our own universe anymore than bacteria in our stomach can see outside of our body. The possibility that our entire universe exists within an intergalactic particle of dust is just as possible as any other scenario or theory of our existence. |
No, but its all o ne and the same

show me the end of the universe and ill take one step beyond :2 cents:
its infinite...its impossible that its finite... not just in space but in size (micro and macro) and in time and in dimensions...zoom in and out infinitely, rewind and fast forward, change format, ect what ever you can think of... all round infinity until somebody explains why there should be a "beginning" or "end" in the first place, not just because our pea minds need closure or a simple solution... |
Davis Islands PD have been called. You will be safe in a few minutes. :thumbsup
|
I believe that we are all bacteria in the colon of a giant cockroach eating the crumbs on the floor of a God's kitchen that his maid missed.
|
there are not proof to affirm anything like that but even if we were, what's the difference?
I love this page btw: http://scaleofuniverse.com/ :thumbsup |

the chicken came first

When I was a kid I pondered this question. I eventually came to the realization that our universe IS indeed a single molecule, a wood molecule no less, which is located inside the coffee table of an immeasurably huge giant's house in an immesurably huger universe.
No shrooms were involved, imagine that. |
