Mitt Romney voters: Why are you voting for him?
 

Just a quick question : If you are planning to vote for Mitt Romney, why?

If possible please don't just say to "get obama out". Do you actually have a legitimate reason to vote for him? Did he say something you liked? A plan you appreciate?

Canadians like me want to know.

I ask any Republican I know that same question, and they always have some answer like "the middle class is supported by big business, and Mitt Romney is a businessman" or something retarded like that.

What they really mean to say is "he's white".

I think we need 4 year term limits. This is my opportunity to inflict that on whoever is in office.

I doubt that's going to be a very big motivator for most Americans here to provide an answer.

I'm thinking that there's a strong possibility that many, not all but many, are going to vote for Romney for no other reason than they always vote republican no matter who's running. No different than card carrying democrats do I would imagine.

Mitt is a jackass--- he doesn't give 2 shits about people like me (uninsurable due to past or present health problems). At least Obama wants to make sure people have access to affordable insurance. (Yes, due to my medical situation, I'm a little bias, but I still believe the closer we get to having universal healthcare the better).

But "being a businessman" is not what makes a good president - now more than ever. Big business - namely the banks the mortgage companies - is what got us into trouble in the first place. Romney looks successful because he is a multi millionaire, but that money was made buy borrowing other people's money, buying companies, and fucking everyone who worked for him in the ass. Hard.

It's just like Trump. Trump makes a lot of money. But the truth is he borrows money to build something, manages it for a while, and then walks away as it becomes an utter fail. Trump makes money by fucking everyone else.

Are we better off now than we were four years ago? Of course we are. That's not saying anything good about Obama; My pet dog could have done just as well. Romney is just pointing out what's bad and claiming he can fix it when the truth is he can't. He couldn't fix jack shit in Massachusetts, which ended up worse after he was governor.

Their reasons seem to be one or all of the following:

- Ban abortion.
- Support Israel.
- Bomb Iran.
- Deport Mexicans.
- Repeal Obamacare.
- Drill for more oil.
- Keep tax cuts for the wealthy.
- Ban gay marriage.
- End environmental protections entirely.
- Deregulate everything possible.
- Get the false Christian (and Kenyan) out of the White House.

Mitt is also against abortion in the case of rape or even incest... meaning if a 13 year old child was molested by her father and became pregnant, by law he would want to force her to carry to term. Disgusting.

No the Republicans in the 90's did to counter HillaryCare. Than they decided to try an experiment in Mass with RomneyCare to prove it could work. Than Obama became president and pushed and passed RomneyCare 2.0.

Now the democrats that were yelling that it was a bad plan in 90s and the republicans that were yelling it is a good plan from the 90s until 2008 swapped sides and scammed the American people.

He now calls it the worst idea he ever had.

How does jobs, prosperity and getting people back to work sound to ya? How about stopping run away spending before the country goes bankrupt. Or maybe I (and most Americans) don't want socialized medicine. Maybe I don't like my president bowing to leader of every 3rd world country and apologizing America's greatness. Maybe I want a president that encourages working hard and trying to become successful instead of trying to turn the country into a welfare state where everyone is equal "poor".

All good points. The left never seems to be able to comment on these facts. It's more convenient to let the thread slip away to page 2...

I know I will regret making this post to the board troll...but it's fairly clear that Obama hasn't been the solution to anything economy related.

Prime Minister Harper called and said you should be paying closer attention to Canadian politics and not worry about the US.

I'm voting for Mitt cuz the rich don't have enough, and I want to pay higher taxes so he and his friends can eke out a living.

I also hate libraries, state parks, art, clean air, middle class jobs, education, reproductive rights, and marriage equality.

The middle class is uppity, and I'm tired of it.

There IS a choice! Saying they're all the same is the lazy answer! They are NOT the same.

One believes in tax breaks for the middle class - the other for tax breaks for billionaires. One believes in strengthening public education - the other for vouchers. One believes in medicare/medicaid - the other for vouchers. One believes women have reproductive freedom, the other thinks they should have to deliver their rapist's baby.

Stop that "They're all the same" bullshit. That's just an excuse to not pay attention and beat off!

Fucking vote for the better option - and then follow up! Voting is where it starts - not where it ends. Contact your representatives - they DO listen if enough constituents are heard from. Contact the White House. When the President does something you like - tell him! When he doesn't - tell him! Write a letter to the editor once in a while.

It takes a bit of effort - but freedom isn't free! :angrysoap
