The Walking (Dragging) Dead

Man this season is dragging on.. wtf. Budget cuts, production changes, extending the season, more shooting inside is killing the show. :helpme

I'm still watching but it's time to kick up the pace!!

EddyTheDog 02-13-2012 06:25 AM

I had forgotten about that series.

Not even sure we got it in the UK - I was watching it in Spain before.

Are you talking about series 3?

CaptainHowdy 02-13-2012 06:28 AM

Why do you guys keep watching? Looked like a fiasco from the very start ...

CaptainHowdy 02-13-2012 07:08 AM

The Walking Dread ...

We get it in the UK 5 days after the US it airs this Friday. I will be watching it, but agree it needs some pace. A bit to emotional for a Zombie series.

The first season was kickass! That's why. :)

I know the feeling, it happened to me with "Heroes".

What channel is it on?

To be fair, as its a series they had to have a story line.

Turf 02-13-2012 07:56 AM

agreed, they need to speed this up just a tad... season 1 had stuff going on all the time, season 2 is too slow paced and too much "crybaby"...

However one golden moment was when they asked the fans following them on facebook to vote for which charater on the show they would rather be stuck with if they got seperated from the rest of the group... Quite a few selected Shane and the next week they showed the episode of him leaving otis to save his own ass :D

FX, the home of all quality UK television :thumbsup

I am all for a storyline, I don't mind them relationship/character building, but when it overtakes the people being eaten aspect of the show then there is something wrong :1orglaugh

The Ghost 02-13-2012 08:14 AM

Great show

seeandsee 02-13-2012 08:30 AM

This new episode deserves 1/10 rate, wtf no zombies attacking, no real action, just talking bla bla bla bla are they mad, this show had big doors on the open, what the fuck they did it with it

I don't know what you're talking about. It's better than its ever been. The discussion has been done to death already, but this is a show about people, not about how many headshots they can show each episode. It may look slow to you, because when people are sitting around talking, that's all you see. Pay attention and quit waiting for shit to happen, and you might enjoy it better.

There's always CSI. You could try that.

Rebel D 02-13-2012 08:43 AM

i enjoyed the first episode. i think it will lead up good. especially with what could be a "tribal" war with that other group. and if we are lucky the wife died in that crash. And there was 1 Zombie death with the car accident.

potter 02-13-2012 08:43 AM

It's just as slow as the first season, and the second season...

It's not a show about zombies, it's a drama about people, society, and personal struggles. It just so happens they're in a zombie apocalypse. It was shitty show from the start, from the very first episode.

I'll still watch it, simply because I'm a zombie enthusiast and I'll watch anything with zombies in it. But I won't buy it once it's on DVD or even watch reruns (for example they had the all day marathon prior to the new episode last night - no way in hell I was watching any of them).

beerptrol 02-13-2012 08:48 AM

if it was just wall to wall gore every episode it would get old real fast. I like the character developement and the interaction between the people. You can see some struggling to keep their humanity, while others are losing theirs

speaking of zombies, I watched The Horde last night and thought it was a decent zombie movie

Better? Give me a break. You must enjoy watching paint dry too. You know zilch! AMC does not know how to run a show. Do some reading on the production issues.

Phoenix 02-13-2012 08:51 AM

i enjoyed it...i think it shows the other side of what happens after zombies take over....humans are also your enemies.

martinsc 02-13-2012 08:52 AM

I loved the 1st season and was hoping for soo much more.... :Oh crap I guess i'll drop this one soon..... :(

I guess it depends on our definitions of better.

To you, maybe better means more zombies getting killed. To me things like the long playing scene in the bar(at the end of the episode) is what's better. That was a terrific scene with great tension building.

Dragging out the search for Sofia, and having a slow time at the farm made the barn massacre have more impact when it finally happened.

I'm not saying the show is a masterpiece, but its not for you, I guess.

Who says the walker that got hit with the car is dead? He wasn't counted among the deceased on the after show Talking Dead. I wouldn't be surprised if the next episode starts with the wife regaining consciousness trapped inside the overturned car with that same walker trying to get in.

The bar scene rocked. That was the only good scene in the episode. Who said I wanted zombies killed? I watch because I like the show. There just isn't enough pace. We will see what AMC does with next season. They've already cut next seasons budget and requested it to have extra episodes. I don't care what you say that isn't good.

adultsitecms 02-13-2012 09:10 AM

I reckon the big bad police officer who got his best friend's wife pregnant will bite the dust by series' end. The actor who played him has already moved to another tv show. In the comics, he dies early on anyway. I'm waiting for that badass bitch, Michonne, to appear.

sojproductions 02-13-2012 09:12 AM

at least the girl has been found, so that shitty part of the storyline wont now be dragged on into the second part of the season - and while we're on it, wtf is splitting a season in two all about!?!? how can you have a season break during a season, season end is the season break!

BIGTYMER 02-13-2012 09:14 AM

Mad Men is owned by Sony so when AMC tried to cut the budget Sony said fuck off I'll take the show to FX. Walking Dead has no pull as it is owned by AMC.

billywatson 02-13-2012 09:27 AM

I like the show, too. But it's time they got off the farm.

J. Falcon 02-13-2012 09:31 AM

Second season sucked tremendously. First season was fun and that's it. Only good if you really like zombie stuff.

Yeah the whole being on the farm talking about their feelings is getting old.

CurrentlySober 02-13-2012 10:10 AM

I watched the first season, but have not even looked at the new one. All i ever hear is negativity surrounding it...

fuzebox 02-13-2012 11:47 AM

I find the writing weak, and I don't like how the show uses cheap tactics to get you to care emotionally (wife and best friend fucking, pregnant, kid gettin shot, etc)... I know it follows the comic but the plot is so predictable and basic :2 cents

I liked season 1.
The first part of season 2 was boring.
This new episode (s2e8) was imo the best episode of season 2.

Actually, it doesn't follow the books and would be better if it did. In the books, the kid shot the dude who was banging his mom.

The end of the Walking Dead show went right into the beginning of their new show Comic Book Men on my DVR so I didn't see any previews of next week's show other than the preview of the guys armed inside the bar talking to some other humans on the Talking Dead after show. But it seemed pretty obvious that something is going to go on with Rick's wife in that car next episode.

Totally. What utter flops Breaking Bad and Mad Men turned out to be.

It's still the 2nd season. The show just took a hiatus.
