Glenn Beck promised his Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. Saturday would fundamentally transform the U.S., sounding a deeply religious note in advance of the controversial event. Some 100,000 conservative baggers ? including potential 2012 presidential candidate Sarah Palin ? are expected at the demonstration on the same spot where Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech 47 years ago to the day.

Speaking at an event at the Kennedy Center Friday night, Beck emphasized the religious aspect of his message, The Washington Post reported. "We are 12 hours away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America," Beck said, according to the Post. "It has nothing to do with this city or politics. It has everything to do with God almighty." "This is the beginning of the great awakening of America ... We must give voice to what God says we must do," he added. "My message to you tonight is stand where He wants you to stand and trust in the Lord. If He tells you to do it, do it. If you can't figure it out, He will. Just do it."

"My role is, as I see it, to wake America up to the back-sliding of principles and values and, most importantly, of God," he said. "We are a country of God. As I look at the problems in our country, quite honestly I think the hot breath of destruction is breathing on our necks."

Palin, who is expected to speak at Saturday's rally, had a similar message for a sell-out crowd at the annual fund-raising banquet of the Pennsylvania Family Institute Friday. "What else do we have, at the end of the day," beyond faith in God, Palin said.

Glenn found religion because his second wife, Tania, refused to have premarital sex, and wouldn?t marry unless the two adopted a faith. So Glenn did what any red-blooded male would do, and that is to race to the car in search of God, leaving a trail of dust à la Speedy Gonzales. The two proceeded to go on a ?church tour? in search of the perfect religion, ultimately deciding on Mormonism.

One has to wonder, however, if Tania wasn?t trying to pull off some colossal bluff when she asked Glenn to find religion before getting in bed with her.

I like Beck, I find him very Entertaining. I do have to take breaks from watching him, as it does get to be to much.
I know this thread is about Beck, but one person I can't stand is Sean Hannity.

The reason Beck got popular is because things are fucked up in the country, so if you don't like Beck, Blame Obama.
I can only stand a few minutes listening to Beck, way too religious, but some people listen to that. But when there is a lack of leadership in the country, people look for a different path, a lot are choosing Beck. If Obama was a better leader, even a lukewarm leader, Beck wouldn't have an audience.

Anytime we have a Dem president the right wing talk shows / radio goes crazy. Even if Obama was turning everything around... they would ride his ass.

Under Clinton, it was no different. I remember sitting at the Lake as a teenager listening to the right wing radio, Savage started in the mid 90's and was made popular under Clinton.

Beck... is much worse, he will make shit up out of thin air and sensationalize it. He doesn't care about facts, look up facts, or report on facts. His talk show is nothing more than a way to put fear into confused/stupid people so they soak up his every word... no matter how extremely bizarre insane crazy he is, the sheep are waiting to soak it up.

Please list some facts that Beck has got wrong. I have yet to see a good list of facts he got wrong. Not opinions about what he says, but facts he has gotten wrong.

Personally I think the tea party started because Obama was black. It started before he ever had a chance to do anything or fuck anything up. It didn't start 'after' he did things, it started when he became President, it started right 'after' they found out he would be President. The first time he put ink to paper, he failed....

Yeah, they didn't protest the 5 trillion in debt, false wars, etc... but the moment a black man was going to become President, a shit load of people thought it was time to stand up.
