A question for Non-US webmasters....
Just Curious, How much does your bank charge you to deposit a US check? :upsidedow
around 5-7 USD
Montreal Canada..
I have 2 accounts with different banks...both charge $0 ...one cashes them instantly ( on the basis if it gets returned I have to pay the amount back ) the other places a 30 day hold on the funds..... |
near 7 USD, and i receive money in 30d
Nothing in Canada if you have a US dollar account with them, ho hold time either. I deposit it into my US dollar account then transfer to my chequing as I need it.
0$ and I get the money instantly
It was so long ago I don't even remember :)
ePassporte all the way :thumbsup |
12$ per currency
About 30 euro

$10 + -

I get 7 cheques (checks) banked for $20 Australian.
22 dollars
Around $20
About £10 per 'time' for me. I just hand in the checks, either 1 or 2 or a year ago, 20 or more, and they do it all for me.
Doesn't matter how many diff checks from how many diff companies. Its a 'per visit' kinda thing. |
No charge, but a 30 day hold... Easier just to deposit into my US account whenever I make a trip.
My US bank is coming out with a scan-and-deposit tool for internet banking which is kind of cool. |
nothing .. in Can or US account ...
minimum of 3eur, but its more if cheques is higher than few hundred (percentage then is counted)
Around 30$ plus a percentage or two for the conversion from $ to €.
Foreigners can open checking accounts in the USA. Why cash them in the EU, anyhow?
My retarded bank just started charging 30 Euros for one check. I have not noticed it and cashed $25 CCBill check (I take them about 6 weeks to cash it). So I end up with loosing money on this one :)
it was a lot... since then i use only epass :thumbsup
not even worth it here in phuket, TH. 45 day+ wait, passport copies, many forms, etc.
Fuckers charge me like 35-40euros and thats because they are "being nice". Normally it can be as high as 140euro for the bigger ones..

My bank used to let me accumulate checks and then charge me $7 per batch, and clear them at once. Then I had a big check bounce on me so they changed the rules..
Now its around $10 each and 6 weeks wait. Although some checks can cost a fortune to cash. And others, Canadian banks with USD amounts, my bank wont even cash them anymore. Now I just get wires. |
£25 per visit to the bank. As many cheques as you have.

I used to get unlimited cheques for zero fee at Westpac, with immediate clearance... Then it changed to unlimited for $15 Then it changed to $15 per 4 cheques Then it changed to $20 per 4 cheques with no more immediate clearance ($35 for the big ones) Bugger that. |
1% of the check amount - min. 1 EUR
Around 25$ and a 21 days waiting time.
I haven't deposited a check in like 5 years but when I did It used to be around $13 per check and 7 day's hold on the money.

A % and that amount usually depends on how much you have in their bank.
Haven't done it for a while but it was around $10-15 for unlimited cheques in the UK.
Flat fee of about $5 and additional time for clearing.
But it's still way, way better solution than trying to get a wire. |
It used be nothing, now they charge 8$,and 12$ for bigger amounts like 1000$.
Thanks for all the replies! :pimp
