Most of that was pretty interesting, even believable, but then they hit the part about vegetarianism having been connected to intelligence by some studies and the whole article went spiraling into a brick wall at 200mph.

Studies can be made to prove just about whatever you want them to. I never believe in any of them.

Actually, if a study is designed properly, all the possible biases are accounted for and the sample is of sufficient size, you can obtain repeatable and significant results providing insights into the relationships contained within the target group.
