ePassporte - ATM Protection Program
ePassporte has been notified of increased unauthorized ATM activity. In order to protect you, ePassporte has implemented the ATM Protection Program. Your new Standard ATM Limits are as follows:
Standard Daily ATM Transaction Limit: 2 Standard Total Daily ATM Withdrawal Limit: $300.00 While your Standard ATM Limits are active, you are protected against unauthorized ATM transactions up to US$300, per day. Other purchase and withdrawal limits on your ePassporte account will remain unchanged. You may currently have a pre-authorized withdrawal limit greater than the limits listed above (“Personal ATM Limits”). You activate your Personal ATM Limits at three-hour intervals by following the steps in the Manage Visa Card(s) section on the ePassporte website. While your Personal ATM Limits are active, you will be required to accept full liability for all unauthorized activity on your account. You may choose to opt-out of the ATM Protection Program and set your Personal ATM Limits as the default limit, but by choosing to do this, you agree to accept and assume full liability for all unauthorized ATM transactions on your account. To learn more about the ATM Protection Program, please visit our Terms and Conditions at ePassporte.com. Thank you. ------------ This means if you have higher limits than $300 per day you need to activate the higher limits and withdraw within 3 hours of doing so to be able to withdraw more than $300 per day after the 3 hours are up your limits will go back to $300. Alternatively you can opt out of the ATM Protection Program and will be able to withdraw the full daily limit at any time but you will be responsible for ALL unauthorized transaction done on your Electron card. You can active your higher limits inside your account or by calling CS at +1.310.301.2001 If you have any questions feel free to ask them here or send me a email to [email protected] |
I like the line about making the customer fully liable for all withdrawals.

I think you guys might have wanted to forward to a news page about this change, but are sending to a 404 instead. From that 404 page though, clicking the top menu buttons though I can still access my account fine so it's not too big a deal, just letting you know :winkwink: |
Everyone who opts out is going to get royally screwed.

ok works now.

how are the thieves withdrawing money from accounts they dont own ? Dont they actually need the card to do that ?
I could be wrong but i would think the ONLY way this would happen is thieves who copy the actual card itself at the point of transaction ( i.e. swipe/atm ). This must be rather rare and couldnt affect epassporte more than any other institution right ? i don't see how there could be a sudden increase unless its an epassporte employee or someone snagging the cards before they reach their destination .. in these cases i would think epassporte has a problem Just out of curiosity , if an atm is duped and found does visa reimburse you anything for the stolen transactions ? |

Yup me too! And im already made a thread about this one! Im an idiot! Just disregard that one threat!!! |

This is an issue of cards being copied at the ATM/swipe. This have been a major problem in many countries for years and the scammers gets more and more sophisticated and the problem is on the rise. For you other point instead of just ignoring it since you are always insinuating things like this I will say: We receive the cards in sealed envelopes from the printer, we ship the cards the Account Holder then activates the card and choose a PIN of their own. |
FYI - it is not just at ATMs :(
There are places that employees will take your card to charge it and before giving it back to you they will swipe it in a Card Copy device :( I know it happened in the past at Full service Gas stations :( Card Copy device are small and can store many cards info in memory. |

like 5 pin numbers , once a withdraw takes place the pin rotates to a new pin Quote:
:thumbsup |
don't really get this, can somebody explain a little bit? When i set limit to 300$ to day, what protection do i get?
|
Quote:
If you don't use the protection program there is no chance of getting the funds back. |
so is this actually an increase in total withdrawal daily for some accounts? like now can i take out 2 x $300 a day vs $320 a day?
|
I like my $5K limit just how it is, thanks!

Sorry my english sucks ass.
I was able to widthdraw 500$ everyday. Now it's only 300$ (2 transactions max) and there is a way to put it back to 500$ only for 3 hours ? After it goes back to 300$ ? You need to activate (or whatever) something each time if you want to withdraw more than 300$ ? Sorry again. I'm learning spanish, maybe i should push more for my english hahahahahahah |

even 2 sets of pins would seriously thwart theft, even if they happened to hit the right one at the right time they can't do it twice |

it does mean more atm fees but you can opt out of this and leave your account as is.
|
More security can only be a good thing :thumbsup
|
Okey dokey
|
It does not mean more fees.
If you log in to your account and click Visa Cards --> ATM Protection Program --> Activate Personal Limits then your limits is exactly the same as before. This is to protect against fraud but it is voluntary and you have the option to opt out and accept the risk. With a call to CS you can also get the Personal Limits activated/deactivated. |

That is what I personally do but I still use the new feature just in case. |
Mind if I say: I LOVE EPASS ??
|
nice feature definitely. It should be good to have email sent whenever the money withdrawal is done also. That way you can easily track all the transactions that happen on your account.
|
Way to go ePass! :)
|
Don't understand why this is required given the wallet feature works really well at preventing anyone (including me when I've forgotten to xfr the funds) from withdrawing anything.. Except for the morons that don't use it and they deserve to get ass fucked.
