My days are over, it just punched me in the face last night. I had 3 jack on the rocks and two beers, did not feel too drunk but I would have totally failed a breathalyzer. Anyways at about 12:30 AM a cop pulls me and this girl I was following home over and pretty much called us both out, said you guys look drunk as shit, said he loves to party also but he isn't a cheap ass or dumbass and uses a taxi, he then let us both go with a warning.

3:30 AM that night and three more beers later I was driving back home and totally ran a yellow light that turned red right in the intersection, the same fuckin cop snuck out of nowhere and followed me a mile to my house, pulled next to my car and said, you are just asking for a DUI buddy and shook his head in amazement and took off.

Fuck fuck fuck, I have been doing this since I was 16 and never got a DUI, I consider yesterday my lucky fuckin day. I am never EVER driving while I have been drinking ever again.

So many people drive drunk as fuck and dont even think twice about it.

In Michigan, you would have been hammered to the wall, license cut up, hauled off to jail. Then lost license for a minimum of a year, been hit with all kinds of 'responsibility fees' on top of probation most likely for a min. of a year, maybe 2.

A lot of the models have been nailed, as well as some of the constructions dudes working on my house. I have heard all their crying in the beer stories of losing their license, all the money they have had to pay the state and so on.

I'm so glad my boyfriend doesn't drink...I have a designated driver whenever we go out for cocktails. Otherwise, I'd just stay in the house and catch a buzz.

My take on this story is he is thanking his lucky stars he didn't get a DUI and should be... lesson learned. Everybody fucks up... that's life...

My Aunt and nephews were rear ended at 60mph, they were at a stop SIGN in a RESIDENTIAL area, the guy hitting them was on a laptop.

She suffered 3rd degree burns over 70% of her body, her Husband (My uncle through marriage) pulled her out of the flaming car when he noticed "the kids weren't crying anymore"... A neighbor in the area put them out with his hose. My aunt died later in the hospital and my uncle isn't allowed to have guns anymore because he's suicidal.

Doing anything other than paying attention while you're driving is fucking stupid. Car's are extremely powerful.

I'm glad you're ok, physically and legally, and I really hope you don't do anything again, while I sympathize for your situation and know how lucky you are, think about that little girl you have, she could have grown up without a dad, either because he was in jail for vehicular manslaughter, or because he killed himself driving drunk.


Sorry to be so serious, I know people get way more wasted and drive... I just know quite a few people besides my aunt who have died in car accidents, when they did nothing wrong.

But man, where do you live, Hazard County? Any real cops these days have a bug up their asses for DUIs. By me they troll the main road here every Friday and Saturday night. I got pulled over once while sober and didn't have my license or insurance with me and the cop told me to just move along, all they care about are DUI's.

He got pulled over the first time around 12:30, got a warning, went to drink AGAIN, got drunk, drove back home at 3:30am, ran a yellow light that turned red as he was running the yellow light, the SAME cop followed him home and "pulled him over" and AGAIN he gets a warning.

Oh and he's been doing this since he was 16 so he's "sorry" now? Everybody fucks up, yes, but it's not "fucking up" if you've been doing it since you were 16. That's just thinking that you're "cool" and you will never get pulled over so you can drive drunk any time you want..

Most of us have nasty habits. Some of us do drugs, drink too much, take pain pills, smoke too much pot, eat to much.

My nasty habit was drinking and driving, I was always able to hold my liquor so well that I always started driving because I always seemed sober to everyone. Be happy guys that this habit has been broken for me without me getting fucked for it. I am so thankful you guys should be to, people look up to me and I'm sure my peers might see me of all people not doing it anymore and stop as well. I'm real serious about this. Last night was the fuckin wake up call that I needed. Be thankful Im 27 and stopping this now before it got any worse. I'm done. I aint a college kid anymore and I new this but it kicked me in the face last night.

I was following a buddy home after closing the bar and popping about 7 vicodin. we BOTH got pulled over in his driveway after running a light just like u (i had to because I didn't know where we were going or where he lived).

After some time (and omitting all the pointless details) I was basically arrested and he was arguing with the cop claiming he wasn't drunk or high when the cop got another call and handed all my info and i.d. to my buddy, said "you guys just got so fucking lucky" and ran off to his car.

I was fucking shocked, what kind of call is better than a double DUI? A fucking robbery, that's what. That cop left and got shot in the chest at the robbery in Lansing Michigan. I saw the story on the news the next day.

It all happened so fast, but when he was running to his car I raised my arm and said, "thanks", and he replied "no problem". HAHAHA

I have not drank and drove since, but sometimes on vicodin still...

That cop showed a little too much discretion IMHO.

First stop (if there really had to be two incidents) should have been a warning and advice to park the car and take a taxi home.

Second stop should have been an arrest.

Around here you would have lost your licence and had your car impounded, no questions asked...

I understand how you feel... You don't consider drinking and driving to be a big deal until it affects you... Thankfully most of us have wake-up calls that don't hurt anybody.
