I've been wanting to go on Adderall for a while now... I'm way manic and high strung.. and lately it's been interfering with work.

you're just a retard. Go on, stick some drugs in your gullet - maybe you'll feel like a useful person afterwards...
|
i barely even smoke weed any more
pretty much my only vice now a days is the amount of booze i can down |
The possible side effects are scary man...be careful.
ADVERSE REACTIONS Nervousness and insomnia are the most common adverse reactions but are usually controlled by reducing dosage and omitting the drug in the afternoon or evening. Other reactions include hypersensitivity (including skin rash, urticaria, fever, arthralgia, exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme with histopathological findings of necrotizing vasculitis, and thrombocytopenic purpura); anorexia; nausea; dizzines; palpitations; headache; dyskinesia; drowsiness; blood pressure and pulse changes, both up and down; tachycardia; angina; cardiac arrhythmia; abdominal pain; weight loss during prolonged therapy. There have been rare reports of Tourette's syndrome. Toxic psychosis has been reported. Although a definite causal relationship has not been established, the following have been reported in patients taking this drug: leukopenia and/or anemia; a few instances of scalp hair loss. In children, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, weight loss during prolonged therapy, insomnia, and tachycardia may occur more frequently; however, any of the other adverse reactions listed above may also occur. http://ritalinsideeffects.net/ |

It's all in the lifestyle. When I was eating less beneficial, I wasn't able to stay focused. Especially when I drank a lot of caffiene or sugary shit. I switched out a lot of the things I used to "snack on" for more balanced meals and now I see a major improvement. That coupled with some exercise will do wonders for the body and mind :2 cents::2 cents:
|
I would lay off the wacky weed also
|
Lay off that Gatorade while you are at it. There have been studies at several "alternative" junior and high school's throughout the country where they don't allow sugar type products in their lunches and they have seen crazy differences in the students... many of these students being the ADD and ADHD type.
Sugar sure tastes good but man if it takes a toll on your body, you need to consider cutting it out. |
ADHD and ADD and all that shit is made up by drug companies to make money and sell their wares.
Fix your diet, exercise, and you will regain focus. That ritalin shit is nasty on your brain. Get off it now. Seriously. |

when i was in college, i used to get adderall from friends to help study and noticed for my late night cramming sessions it did help... as long as i was locked in a room with only my books :1orglaugh i went to the doctor one year and said "i think i might have a concentration problem" and talked to him for all of 3 minutes and walked out with a prescription for adderall. no tests, no pysch evaluation. i was surprised how easy it is to get some meds |

Just be careful, that shit ruined my brothers life. Really fucked him up. FYI, this is my kitchen now. :winkwink: http://i44.tinypic.com/25gruwo.jpg The fridge and cupboards pretty much mirror the level of health I'm at now. Gym, 3-4 times a week. Life is great. Glad to see you focused. |
I lost focus of whats going on here.
Wut? Dixie Dash is the hotten. |
sticky, ask to try adderall one day... it is way better than ritalin
ritalin gives you a bit more of a caffiene jitter / tunnel feeling... adderall XR is great but if it aint broke dont fix it :) |

Also if that were true that means nearly every doctor/scientists would be in on it too. Talk about one hell of a scam... You are right about one thing though ritalin is shit and so are most those other drugs, gotta be careful what you take... |

The fact it seems like ever other North American is prescribed something these days should provide all the proof you need to know these are manufactured "mental diseases" :2 cents: |

You guys are talking in blanket statements about this. Your general feeling and purpose I agree with, people take too many medications when a lifestyle change can many times "fix them". But you shouldn't write off mental illnesses so easily just because you can't "see them". |

Congrats, you've found the secret of most college students for the past 20 or so years.

As others have warned, Ritalin users experience some serious side effects, both while using the drug, and during withdrawal, if/when they try to quit it: Quote:
My brother took Ritalin as a kid, and I think it messed him up for awhile there. He was lucky though, because after he was off Ritalin, he was better socially adjusted and went on to obtain a Masters Degree and is a successful professional today. :2 cents: ADG |
terrible idea to go on that stuff :2 cents:
and you are exaggerating how healthy your diet is, you told us the truth in the other threads a little while ago, I don't believe you even know how to eat healthy :2 cents: |
Stay away from foods with food coloring, it can drastically add to the effects of ADD/ADHD. In fact, a good number of people who have been "diagnosed" with ADD were actually having allergic reactions to food coloring, and a simple change in diet can cause dramatic change.

You are wrong. I was diagnosed with ADHD, it was all 100% bullshit. For years I took prescription drugs on and off trying to get hold of it. It was all 100% bullshit. And, to really hit it out of the park for you, that Ritalin shit fucked up my younger brother, permanently. It's all in your head. This is the only country that makes up diseases for the layman to make money at the expense of that persons life. I stopped taking anything for "ADHD" many many years ago, over 9 I think. I eat very good now, well as good as life allows you. I am able to focus better than ever before. The only time that my focus gets messed up now is when I drink. I haven't drank since Nov, and to be honest, once I did a cleanse for a week, I now feel better than ever. Treasure is right about the artificial colors. Caffeine too. Eat right, exercise, and tell the drug companies and the doctors who are paid to diagnose new patients with fake diseases to fuck off. You have to buck up and do it. If stick is sick and he feels he needs it, then fine. I am strong in the brain and beat it naturally, maybe everyone can't do that. I no longer feel like I have an attention deficit. And the cure is in the produce section of your local supermarket and tied to your feet when you're exercising to stay fit. I'm sure there are people in extreme cases where prescription drugs are a benefit to that individual, however I will still insist that the large majority of people who are prescribed drugs are done so that doctor can drive that expensive car and afford his big doctor house. All the best to everyone. |

To reiterate I got a full check up, ekg, walking on treadmill. Blood tests. My heart is 100% healthy. All I had was a severe panic attack that mimicked heart attack symptoms. I was told by the doc in the ER when I made that thread that I "might" of had a minor heart issue, but the results of the initial blood test showed I was fine. I had an appointment at my regular doc later that week to make sure.
I've lost 19lbs down from 164 to 145, and I am very slim and trim, and building new muscle. I've stuck to my 5 day a week regiment for the last 2.5 months since that happened. Swim 30 minutes of laps 3 days a week, 200 situps a day, 100 in the morn, 100 at night, 100 pushups 50 in morn 50 at night. 3 sets of 30 curls using 25lb weights per arm. 100 squats a day. And try to do like 50 sets of going up and down the stairs. I usually take 2 days off and veg out. Im more than likely in better shape than I would guess 80% of the people on this forum, but could be wrong lol Having the occasional pizza isn't going to hurt you much. And it wasn't even pizza I got that night that people are talking about, it was hot wings and a small order of cheese sticks that I didn't even eat more than 2 of lol. My main diet is normally turkey sandwiches using light mayo, salad, fruits, and veggies. Ill put up some new ab pics on monday or tues. The retalin seems to work for me, I assure you I need it. I don't ever use drugs as a crutch. And I bitch at people that do, but this stuff just seems to keep me focused and able to get through work that I need to complete. :thumbsup |
