Thunder-ball is turning to shit

I used to really like using the services provided by Thunder-ball but recently it has turned into nothing but spam. My inbox fills with bullshit link requests from PR 0 sites. I hope someone from Thunder-ball is on here because if you don't clean things up your going to let a great idea be ruined by users who abuse your system. Get it under control before it dies.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 01-15-2009 04:13 PM

thunderball has sucked since long time now

BigRod 01-15-2009 04:16 PM

Yeah it's a good idea if they manage it properly, seems like a ship without a captain.

Relentless 01-15-2009 04:20 PM

Mr. Bond has been doing well with it for a long while. I've made 100s of worthwhile trades and I agree it has hit a bump in the road... but I have no doubt Bond will get it back on smooth ground quickly.

If he doesn't lose it when someone suggests an improvement of course. He has a history of flipping the fuck out.

d-null 01-15-2009 04:22 PM

haven't used it, but are these pr0 sites that are looking to trade with your pr0 sites, or are they ignoring pr limits and requesting anyways when you have already clearly stated a minimum pr for that site?

spacedog 01-15-2009 04:22 PM

I just ignore trade requests from it 99% of the time.. It's always the same dumb fucks requesting the same shit over and over.

spacedog 01-15-2009 04:23 PM

It's full of idiots requesting out of niche trades for links on PR sites while offering a shit link back from a pr0 free hosted shitbag

brassmonkey 01-15-2009 04:24 PM

there are scripts out there to do the task why would you want a 3rd party handling your trades :helpme

cess 01-15-2009 04:26 PM

The shitlist is disabled too. So people can spam you all they want, drop links all they want and there's no way to block them. But if they enable it people will just shitlist you for no reason. The shitlist is nearly pointless anyway, who actually checks every profile before trading?

Also lately I've seen a lot of dropped link alerts that weren't dropped from tons of people 50+, so the link checking isn't even working right. Some of the trades only show one part of the trade in the setup/alert, so you can't even see where you're suppose to link to or vice versa. The PR for sites is almost always out of date, so that's kind of pointless too.

Not to mention all the other things that need fixed or features that need to be added. I'm really amazed google hasn't banned the sites in thunderball, it doesn't make sense that any non member can see all the sites listed there.

It's too bad no one else has made a site like thunderball for adult sites. It seems like some of these sponsors around here would considering how many affiliates they could pull in from it.

It's been a great and useful tool for a long time.. just it's been experiencing difficulties..

I'd love a feature where I could block certain users from requesting trades.

a lot of those scripts don't do a-b-c etc trades. Not that it matters, having one site with a huge database you can trade from saves you so much time. Hunting down trades for hours and hours then adding the trade just to find out half the people you traded with are dumbshits that dropped your link sssssucks.

bdld 01-15-2009 04:34 PM

i would pay a hundred dollars a month if this turned into a better quality service. the demand is there. he should either put the time into making it better and charge for it, or sell it to someone who will.

mineistaken 01-15-2009 04:38 PM

I wish they banned all the freehosted crapblogs, also ban those fuckers who drop links. Otherwise this will die slow death

qxm 01-15-2009 04:39 PM

yeap..there is definitively room for much needed improvement.... and if its not implemented in time TB is gonna turn into real crap fast..... seriously...

Anyone knows of alternatives to TB?

Yeah there needs to be a way for people to block sites you don't want to trade with. Freehost, freeblogs, pr0 sites or whatever you want. So if others want to trade with them then they can. Also if someone drops more than 3 links for over a week or two it should be a instant ban or at least autoshitlist, hell something. Same goes for the guys who don't setup links, fuck givem 30 days, if they don't get it by then fuckem.

Sosa 01-15-2009 04:44 PM

Def room for improvement. Hell I re-did a site, and I can't even remove the old pages that don't have any trades to replace with the new urls. I don't even both logging in anymore and just delete the trade request emails as soon as they hit my inbox.

If anybody can come up with a list of features they'd like to see in an alternative of TB I'll pass it along to my partner/coder and maybe the 2 of us will crank out an alternative.

CyberHustler 01-15-2009 05:13 PM

Yes, we need a better solution. I'd pay a monthly fee or whatever for something better. I agree with everything listed above plus the site is ugly as shit too.

Rochard 01-15-2009 05:17 PM

I disagree.

I've launched a lot of sites, and all of them are listed in Thunder-ball.net. All of these were brand new, and very quickly I got them up to PR1 and PR2 - mostly using Thunder-ball.net.

In the past week I've launched ten brand new blogs, all custom designs, with handwritten posts, and I've been using Thunder-ball.net to get traffic to all of them. I try to stay in my niches, but when someone with a PR2 toon site wants to link up to my PR0 brand new solo girl blog, well, I'm not gonna say no.

It is what it is, and you can always so no to bullshit trades if you wish.

The past few days at Thunder-ball.net has been, um, interesting. Looks like the scan is working again - and a lot of fuckers dropped links.

xsabn 01-15-2009 05:19 PM

pr is nothing

spacedog 01-15-2009 05:19 PM

about the trades on thunder-ball to/from thumblogger blogs..

If you don't know, thumblogger was hacked in Dec and all links added in last six months on all blogs there are gone if webmaster didn't manually re-add it since the backup was six months old

Are you sure they are all dropped? Make sure you click verfiy. I logged in past few days and keeps saying 30 dropped again and again. But turns out the scan wasn't working right, hardly any ofem really dropped the links.....

  • Ability to do A-B-C-G-F-Y trades
  • Pr Checker that works
  • Link checker that works
  • Functional Shitlist (just in case)
  • Ability to Update Sites once they Have been added (in case something changes)
  • NO FREE HOSTS ALLOWED PERIOD
  • Script that is able to detect static sites from Blogs (There are lots of Blogs in General Cats at TB which should appear if we filter by blogs only)
  • Feel free to add more below...

jmcb420 01-15-2009 05:43 PM

Im really surprised Bond hasn't appeared yet.

Moneypenny must have him out on assignment. A while back TB was the shit. But like most good things..

V_RocKs 01-15-2009 05:48 PM

Would be nice if he'd open up the code to the top users based on PR and quality and let us make changes he can then view before implementing.

My first piece of software would be an ignore function.

As in, you offer me pr0 link back for pr3 link from a blog with 2500 indexed pages, some with pr1 and pr2 to your pr0 site wanting a trademarked term like MILF HUNTER and I just put you on ignore. Then I can also blacklist certain domains like thumblogger.

I just got 10 requests from some faggot that doesn't seem to understand that simulated CP is still CP. Basically it was free sites featuring the chick from Harry Potter that send to 3D porn sites with similar content.

Would be nice if shitlisting still worked so I could shitlist the asshole. Or a [x] button to report inappropriate content so he could ban the guy.

Do you have something you wanna say to me?

Cause frankly I stopped doing public support for TBN a long time ago, but people still keep hitting me up so I help them, even though you, nor they, nor TBN, for that matter, is paying me to do so...

Do you have a problem with that?

Cause frankly I don't really care.

The gods honest truth, is that you and I have never dealt with each other, so why you would troll me is beyond reason, unless your just looking for some drama, to which I say your looking in the wrong place....

Oh and just FYI if it wasn't for me you, nor anyone else here, would even have an account on tbn, cause the shit would have died out a long time ago.

I've been trying my best to keep it a float with limited resources / access while at the same time trying my best to help out members. Or havent you noticed Bond hasn't been around for months now....

So if you have a problem with TBN and wanna troll someone try trolling Mr.Bond

The next time you or anyone else needs something, try letting Bond know and see if he even responds....

I am not now nor have I ever been TBN support....

My official titles there are moderator and link manager

My moderator duties consist of makeing sure your email within your account does not get flooded with spam emails aswell as moderating the shitlistings, to the best of my ability...

and your ignorance seems to have you confused about my other title as link manager

My link managers position consists of manageing links for my clients

(has nothing todo with you or your free account, unless your one of my clients, which as I said above your not)

So I tell you this one last time to be clear, if you have a problem with TBN and or are looking for drama your trolling the wrong person...

Go and troll Mr.Bond and see if you can even get in touch, thanks and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

You still have to find the trades if you used that. Not having to hunt down trades is the biggest advantage of thunderball. Other people looking for trades are right there in front of you, no more link hunting. Also people tend to drop links when you hunt down link trades yourself. There's TONS of scammers out there. The idea behind thunderball is to block/ban scammers. Even in the bad state it's in, it's better than the alternative, way better. :2 cents:

You pretty much said everything I was thinking. I had forgotten about TBN for a long time because I had it attached to an email address I stopped using, but I've been logging in religiously lately and trying to do some good trades. LIKE YOU, ROCHARD :winkwink:

As for the 'alert status' things, I always go to the site and search for my links to make sure that they're actually dropped before I message the person and then drop the trade. I've had some people get pissed that I caught them and try and blame it on the TBN scanner, but when I'm actively searching your source code for my shit and it's not there... um, no.
