I've told affiliate progs when I've been over-paid by $10K+ so yep I'd probably give it back. You never know how much the owners might need that money - could be life and death for them, who knows.

stickyfingerz 12-10-2008 12:54 PM

Damnit thats 15 minutes away from where I live... Wish Id of found that. lol :1orglaugh

pornguy 12-10-2008 12:54 PM

Found on the street???

HELL NO. " Do unto others BEFORE they can do Unto you. "

TampaToker 12-10-2008 12:56 PM

"She came up and hugged me. She offered me $1,000, but told me she needed every penny she could so I thought, it's not my money. If she needs it that badly, it knew she didn't really want to give it, so I didn't take it," said Watts.

:Oh crap

CDSmith 12-10-2008 12:56 PM

Well, the honest straight-up fairness side of me says grandma did the right thing and handled the situation correctly.

But the more 'sporting' side of me can't help thinking that if someone is DUMB enough to go around carrying that much cash and then is even more dumb enough to actually lose it or forget it somewhere... they kind of deserve to lose it.

Tough call. Knowing me I'd probably return it, but not without temptation.

JamesK 12-10-2008 12:56 PM

Fuck no. I'd at least keep a part of it. I lost my wallet a lot of times and I NEVER got it back. So I say fuck the world.

WebairGerard 12-10-2008 12:59 PM

I would give it back. It would never sit well with me to keep it.

Persius 12-10-2008 12:59 PM

100k is tempting....

tony286 12-10-2008 01:02 PM

i would give it back

seeandsee 12-10-2008 01:04 PM

Yup. Anyone who says they wouldn't be tempted even a little is far too rich to be eating at Cracker Barrel. :winkwink:

Jack Sparrow 12-10-2008 01:15 PM

Depends on the niche it would be for.

Oh wait.. 100k money, right?

I have found several wallets & purses in my lifetime & I have always tracked down the owner and returned them. No one ever offered me a reward, just a big thank you.
One wallet was found in the bank parking lot and had almost $900 hundred dollars in it. That woman actually had me drive to her place to return it which I found a bit ungrateful and would have appreciated at least $20 for the effort. But, I felt good doing the right thing.

Now, if I had found a bag full of money with no contact info. I would have kept it for sure.

moeloubani 12-10-2008 01:24 PM

a bag of cash?

lol if you return a bag of cash you're an idiot.

rowan 12-10-2008 01:25 PM

As one comment says, how can you confirm the authenticity of this story? Did they take pics of the cash or ask the woman her name?

I always thought the rule was, remove the cash (your reward) return the wallet/purse.

This sounds sarcastic, but I swear I've heard that.

Seriously, isn't that the rule?

DannysReviews|com 12-10-2008 01:25 PM

This is hard to answer. :(

Ya same here, I've returned a lot of wallets and credit cards. Had a guy rushing in front of me on the way to Costa Rica this year and saw him drop his credit card. I scooped it up and had to run to catch him as he was trying to make a flight. Would of been pretty easy to use that sucker in Costa to have a few nice dinners or something as I never had my ID checked down there even once the last 2 times I've been there lol. Hmm I could of brought home a suitcase full of cialis damn... what was I thinking returning that lol

umbralui 12-10-2008 01:29 PM

my sister find 10k euro and it give it back and in exchange of this .. she got only many thanks .... so i will do the same ..money are the eye of the devil :)

I really don't know what I would do in such a situation.

:2 cents:

Drake 12-10-2008 01:33 PM

I'm wondering why that woman had $100k in her purse. Who walks around with that kind of money in cash.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 12-10-2008 01:35 PM

I'd have damn sure taken the $1000 reward!

Matyko 12-10-2008 01:41 PM

I am an psyhead. I would definitely give it back. I haven't found nothing so far, but I've lost many things, and most of the time I had that great pleasure that someone found it and gave me back.

Juicy D. Links 12-10-2008 01:41 PM

ya all full of shit

Kudles 12-10-2008 01:45 PM

lol, yup that sounds fair to me.

If I ever lost my wallet I'd be happy with everything but the cash back.

BradM 12-10-2008 02:23 PM

I would take it, no questions asked. I couldn't care less what the moral implications of it are - it's 100k. It's mine.

A-n-D-r-E-S 12-10-2008 02:23 PM

I will return it but 10k will stay in my pocket...
