little kids keep stealing my valve stem caps when i park outside my building. They cost fuck all but im getting sick of replacing them. The kids are like 10 years old and are probably putting them on their bikes because they are the shiny chrome kind...

Any ideas? I know exactly which 3 kids it is, I saw them leaving the last time and when I came out on the balcony when they were coming back i overheard "he's on the balcony" and they walked off.

You're either serious about stopping them or you aren't. If you aren't, they'll keep doing it. If you are, you'll film them stealing and then take the tape to their parents. If the parents get an attitude or refuse to do anything about it, you go to the cops. It's really the only thing you can do.

i bought a shiny new set, so im gonna wait for a nice day and wait outside with my camera, take a pic then call the cops. Hopefully the cops wont laugh at me for reporting $2 valve stem caps as stolen, but its really a the principle of it.

They also jacked my neighbors Mercedes sign off his hood, so the next thing they are gonna be after is my bmw emblems, which means they are gonna fuck up the hood trying to get it off :(

I'd totally shitkick them if they were like 15 or 16, but i'd end up in jail for beating up some 10 year olds. There's always lots of people outside and on their balconies and stuff as there are many buildings in this neighborhood. There is no way i could do it without someone calling the cops on me, which they would because they wouldn't know the back-story.

Then what do i tell the cops? Uhh i beat up the 10 yr old because he stole my $2 valve caps?

I'm definitely gonna try threatening them, and take a picture of them. As i said I don't so much give a fuck about the caps its just the principle of it. Uh, yeah... that's exactly what I said.... I actually don't even like kids and I think most people, including the parents of these little thieving brats, simply shouldn't reproduce. So, I actually agree with you in many respects, but:

1. beating up kids doesn't make you a tough guy nor does refusing to beat up a kid make you a "pussy"

and

2. people who beat up kids go to jail. Personally I don't think I'd like going to jail over some jackass kids, and I'm guessing the OP agrees.

If it were adults, I'd be all for an ass beating, but it's not.

Catching them and dragging them to their house is the best answer for everyone. It solves your problem, it gets a parent involved, it teaches the kid you are not to be messed with. Later on the kid will respect your approach because it worked.

Happened to me and my brother when I was 7 or 8 and we'd run through this lady's yard and knocked down 3 or 4 garden gnomes. That lady popped up around the corner and grabbed both of us by our shirts and hauled us back home. Man it sucked, and our mother was mellow (boys will be boys), but she made a point to yell "Just wait til your father gets home!" and the lady was satisfied and stormed off to fix her toppled gnomes.
