What was your favorite porn/non-porn free-host back in the day? Do you still use a free-host these days?

Everyone who's old-skool will have a legitimate answer for this. Because everyone who started out with no capital HAD to use them!

Personally i used geocities, tripod & finally terra.es (towards the end of the high hosting cost days) for my non-porn related sites....& i used...."kinghost" & "smutserver" if i remember correctly for adult free hosting

so break out all those old-skool names guys...for a little trip down memory lane!

Way before them, I promoted CyberThrill Casino, back in like '99, which turned out to be one the biggest internet scam ever.

I remember doing some testing of a friends site by duplicating the html on geocities I think and making some test changes, and I guess the google algorithm back then put alot more juice in a geocities subdomain because I googled it a few days later and somehow my test site on geocities was number one for his unique keyword (company name) bumping down his real site (which was a year old actual paid for hosted site)

I remember panicing and putting in some kind of request to google for the test site to be deindexed (I'm trying to remember exactly how, maybe it was a cache thing?, it is all a vague memory now)....

looking back though, my brain should have clicked $$ and gone black hat like crazy back then but never did

8op.com. Although I can't remember what the perks were anymore, this was like 8 years ago if not longer.

I had girlfriend and she was hooked on geocities. She really got into html and would spend hours and hours on her site.

Geocities taught me a lot with that WYSIWYG editor they had. It was quite top notch in that era ... along with the banner killers haha.

i remember using one free host for adult things... pornhost.biz .... actually i put a lot of work on few sites and i think that i was never rewarder in terms of sales for my work.... but i learn something....there is no such thing like free lunch....

PornCity and Angelfire were my two biggies.

PornCity, PornCorners, Fast&Free, etc....

i just remember learning how to use html on angelfire. thats the only one i ever used.

What about the horrible top and bottom ads on those hosts.. I remember at the very beginning you could change the bg color, but they figured that out pretty fast. I was all about porncity until a Spanish speaking friend opened the door to terra.es. thehun would have 10 galls a day listed on that server. Are they still around in any capacity?

Smutserver was my first! Then I remember having some sites on cherryhost.com I think it was. It used to be owned by Brad from Adult Check back in the days.

I was coming in here thinking it was PimpHost.. but thats the one Pimp Server :) used them right when I started :)
