3rd is just like first for Ron Paul.

Yea and beating out Guiliani is certainly going to cause a controversy and get his message out even further. Everyone is going to ask who the hell this guy is once he gets 3rd.

Perhaps electoral votes was the wrong phrase, but I am drawing a blank.

The primaries are so they know how many of their votes will go to which candidate at the RNC/DNC. Some states divide them according to the % you got in the primaries, others are an all or nothing situation.

How does IA do it?

Never looked into how IA does it, since they havent predicted the winner since Jimmy Carter, the first few states for Ron Paul are just to prove he's not a 4% guy like most people claim. It proves people wrong when they attack him as no chance and he ends up doing better than the "people with a chance"
