I wonder how much time he'll actually serve and if they give leniency for good behavior.

Jman 12-10-2007 09:45 AM

2 year minus 1 month, he might not even serve this in jail. What a fucking joke.

PaygeaGrl 12-10-2007 09:47 AM

It's disgusting..People get more time in jail for smoking pot.

I think most people that serve time for smoking pot are parole violators. Which in itself is pretty stupid. Have some self control, wait until parole is over before you light up. This guy's screwed regardless of what he serves in prison. His image in ruined and he will not quarterback again. That's what his team has said. The NFL suspended him indefinitely, so he'll have to fight to get back in. He knows no other profession, he isn't a scholar. He's a thug.

Dog years...that was funny. I am going to jump out on a limb and take Michael Vick's side on this. How many dogs and cats are put to sleep in the us each year due to overpopulation? In the neighborhood of 25 million! And that doesn't count the numbers that die of starvation, disease, the elements or being hit by cars. That's almost 69,000 a day. We probably kill billions of chickens, cows, and other animals for food. We enslave wild animals for zoos and carnivals (science and entertainment). We also kill hundreds of millions to further scientic research for the benefit of mankind. Go to the horse races and we shoot a horse on the spot when it breaks its leg. What Michael Vick did was somewhat barbaric and immoral, but legally he did nothing wrong. There was gambling and entertainment value in his endevors. In many cultures this is an accepted form of entertainment. If I had a cockroach fighting a centipede on a webcam would I be arrested? Where do you draw the line? (Is my only point). Also what if these dog fights had some religious significance? Even in the bible there's undeniable proof that an animals' lives were expendable. There was countless sacrifices in the New and Old Testament and even Jesus himself took a demon from a possessed teen and cast it into 12 swine (proving one human life is worth more than 12 pigs.) People have different comfort levels but at the end of the day, we kill animals for MANY reasons and Michael Vick has been extremely cooperative during this whole process and it only hurt him more. Another example of the white man keeping the black man down. I now wear a fur hat and almost bought a fox jacket yesterday. I am trying to find a place that sells American Eagle omlettes and baby seal sausage for breakfast. I am anti-animals, pro humans. I hope Vick works out 20hrs a day, doesn't get raped and comes back to be the most unstoppable force in the NFL. (I know he's banned, but they will have to take him back after he did "his time", mark my words.

PaygeaGrl 12-10-2007 10:02 AM

That's what we were just saying. His real payback will be when he doesn't have two dimes to rub together.

I hope someone ass rapes is bitch ass. I understand we put a lot of dogs down every year, but that isn't the question. It is the level of violence and pain that he inflicted.

If you think that he doesn't bring some of that with him into the rest of his life and you think he is a nice guy, then I can only hope that he winds up dating your sister!

I'm happy to see the thug get some jail time. Both he and his brother were thugs at vt and continued once they left. I hope he gets some giant cellmate that wants to :love2suck with him every night. Anyone who kills dogs in general are scum, but to drown, hang, and slam them on the ground till they die are sub-human.

Yeah, i was thinking that aswell.

How can people possibly try to defend what he did ? He was wrong, and took part in something terrible. Just be glad he at least got jailed for it. Not long enough if you ask me...

Ignorant fuck.

NFL? Who gives a fuck. When you do what he did you should get your ass raped. The guy's a dick. He even tried lying about knowing about it ... you're making out he's a hero. No, he's a fucking football player. And THEY'RE expendable. There's PLENTY of people waiting to take his place, who I guarantee, in college etc, are better.

CamJack 12-10-2007 11:40 AM

You only get 52 days for killing Canadians, it's a sick and pathetic legal system. And you are right he DID break laws. Those laws could be easily challenged in the Supreme Court...BUT MIchael Vick bite his tongue and FULLY COOPERATED, didn't tie this up in courts for 5 years and waste millions of dollars defending himself. I think he wants to do his time, be humble, and come back a reformed man. And in my opinion he deserves a second chance. His life is forever changed and he will will have alot of sleepless nights. Instead of 23 months of jail, a better sentence would be to make him shovel dog shit at a shelter for 25000 hours, in my opinion.

hate to break it to you but dog fighting is in fact illegal in all 50 states... not to mention all the related crimes like transportation of a dog across state lines for dog fighting or all the other cruelty related charges for the conditions in which they were kept, for the torture of the animals, for fighting and killing them, gambling etc etc .. the list is quite long of laws that were broken.

saying he did "nothing illegal" is obviously not true.

he broke the law as did many others which are now in jail.

he was prosecuted for those crimes that the prosecuter felt they could adequately prove in a court of law and he is now going to prison for breaking those laws.

where do you draw the line, you ask? uhmmm... hate to rain on your well thought out essay parade, but that "line" is the law. end of story.

People have died in the boxing ring (sport/entertainment). People probably will dying with this UFC craze going on.

Someone will die on Survivor one year and it will be the highest ratings ever. People are blood thirsty. Remember the Running Man movie? It will soon all come to that.

THOSE ARE HUMANS, HUMAN LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANIMALS.

But I am 100% for humans killing each other for sport/gambling/entertainment if both parties are consenting. I don't think it would work in the United States, but there is always some small island interested in making money. And that will be the beauty of the internet.

you act like he had a choice. you act like he did something moral that people should appreciate for "not tying up the court system for 5 years"

trying to salvage a career and not fight a legal battle, with overwhelming evidence of countless felonies isn't exactly a selfless thing

These laws can be challenged. It just takes too much time and money to do so. Vick would have zero public support and waste his best years of his life in court.

Think about all the fucked up porn laws....you need money and time to fight them to get them overturned. And they do get overturned when found unconstitional.
