Most people who kill their family and then commit suicide are christians
They believe they will meet in heaven again and things will be better.
Thats what believing in god does to people :thumbsup |
The religious - I dont care what cult they identify with - are delusional and cannot be trusted in any way.
|
I agree. How can you trust someone who believe things mentioned in the bible. You wouldnt trust me if i believe in elephants flying would you? You would say im mad right? I dont see how believing in the bible is any different.
|
Or when a spouse dies the other spouse sort of gives up on living so they can go and join their partner. Sad.

Bump bump

seriously, believing in heaven is good
when you die, you die happy because you believe/hope that you'll meet in heaven your loved ones |
also the idea that if you're good on Earth, you'll get to heaven is nice
but good on Earth shouldn't mean these crazy radical things, it should just mean being a good, honest person |

Something to try next time you get into a debate with a fanatic:
Ask them if they believe in aliens/ghosts/werewolves, whatever. Most I've ever talked to will deny the possibility. Then simply tell them, so they can believe in a man performing miracles, a man taking animals on an ark, a man parting a sea by waving a stick, an all-powerful being no one ever sees and so on....but not another type of creature, etc...? They will have nothing to come back with and you can freely call them hypocrites and tell them they seem to have selective beliefs. That always pissed them off :pimp |
My g/f is very christian, we argue a lot sometimes heh, of course she will leave me if she knows Im in porn biz :D

I think that the problem is that the bible its a BIG metaphor and people don't understand that, people always seek for something paranormal, some kind of salvation for a empty life.
It all begins when we question, "what is life ?" "What a hell are we doing here ?", "what porpouse of our life ?", and then because there is no defined answer people tend to explain all that stuff with religion. Some centuries ago Christians killed people in the name of Christ, today we see Muslins killing in the name of Allah, both religions became distorted because a couple of smartass guys cheated the dumb believers, in the end it's all about power ! |
The followers of Lord Archiot would never kill in his name. The Robot God teaches peace through careful manipulation of your surroundings. When those who are loyal to Archiot and his robot horde finally shuffle off of this mortal coil, they are rewarded in the afterlife with a new robotic body in which to manipulate the Megasphere itself alongside the creator and master manipulator, Lord Archiot.

Well, what if they say yes, we believe in ghosts etc. .... what you will have to come up with? Man, note one thing. If you cannot agree with something you have not seen, you should also not deny it. Because you never know if it was true or not. Otherwise YOU have selective beliefs. If you go back 1000 years and tell some man that we can travel from Asia to America in less than a day. You can go to moon. He will say you are fucking retard. But are you? Are we? No way! Its fucking truth. But he do not believe just because he have not seen or experienced it. So, if he have right to not believe this (because of not seeing it), he also have NO right to say "Its Impossible" (because he have not seen this goddamn era) Since you have not seen era of Christ and you were not there when that parting of sea happened. You have no right to say "Its untrue" .. :2 cents: Do I have a point? |

Why? Most people ARE christians.

not everyone is a radical, there are radicals in everything, does this mean the rest of the people are also fanatics? the answer is an obvious no. Humans think we have everything figured out and only like to believe in things that are right infront of their face. dont you remember the world is flat? i believe in God (i am not part of any particular religion) but i do not go around pressing my beliefs on anyone. most people with beliefs just want to be left alone and live their lives as a "good person". i mean how can you not believe in God? there is obviously a universal force that gives you the distinction between good and bad. i think all these crazed religious folk have really turned off the world. but if you are a strong minded person you should be able to have your own beliefs and not worry about what anyone else is doing. |

you have probably never even done this, your post is 100% a "try hard" post. wow you didnt disprove anything, you get a pat on the back. all you point states is that things u cant see dont exist. which is total bullshit anyway. |
The one thing that matters is that 100% of people who murder/suicide are mentally retarded. People with normal brains simply dont do that.

My post never said these things don't exist but was to show how religious fanatics only choose to believe some things existed while others are impossible. |

Clearer now ? :winkwink: |
So Metaman and Vick, you are basically saying we should believe in elephants flying? The fact that we havent seen one doesnt mean shit so just like with Jesus, although weve never seen any proof we should assume its real?
|
Agree completely.
|
When you have that logic how come you are still selective in what you believe? If you can believe in god you SHOULD believe in basically anything. Anything you can imagine might be as real as Jesus and god.

where did i say i believe in elephants flying? just like i said people thought the world is flat. as i said i do not fit into a certain religion but i believe in God, look around you, where did all this come from? it just "happened"? you have got to be kidding me that you actually believe that. I dont know who or what God is, nor do i even think mankind is capable of explaining God, but the thing/person/spirit/watever who started this all is God. |
Prove that "love" is real.

For an extreme example to illustrate my point, let's say you are raised by a serial killer and they teach you there is nothing wrong with killing someone. You go out and kill someone and don't feel remorse because you don't know it to be something bad. What force is behind those notions in this case? Or another example, when you are your dad teaches you to lie, steal and cheat to get ahead. Many people will consider that behaviour morally wrong, but you won't if it's how you are raised. Of course later, these people might change their opinion but it will be because something/someone makes them realize it is 'bad' (by society's standards) :2 cents: |

The math geek in me forces me to point out that - by your own figures - the number of Muslims and Atheist/Secular's, alone, outnumber the number of Christians... So, no... most of the world (i.e. 'the majority') is not Christian. There is no majority religion/belief structure. / :2 cents: |
