How can i lose weight without starving?

And without doing hours of exercising...

No, i'm not overweight but i do need to lose about 20 pounds.. Well, thats the problem, because im not overweight, its actually harder to lose it..

I dont eat junk food... I can eat a lot of food in one meal, i mean A LOT, but i dont do that very often either...

I just need to get rid of these extra pounds without starving myself to death, by eating reasonable amounts to feel good during the day..

Anyone have experience with diets?

P.S. The reason i gained weight is that i quit sports about a year ago.. (it was 20-30 hours/week excercising)

Try crack..

pr0 08-20-2002 11:49 PM

Ask your doctor for some speed. Or if you can't afford a doctor pick up some stamp bags & lock yourself in the house for a week.

speed?

nerd 08-20-2002 11:54 PM

actually there is a diet -forgot the name- which you eat like 5 times a day. I've seen the diet on tv and the internet before but i can't recall the name. My girlfriend tried it and lost weight in just a couple weeks. It's some kind of diet that gives you booklets, vidoes, etc which tells you a particular diet to follow from the way your body is made up. I.E your height, weight, your problem areas. I dunno the name of it but it cost around 100 bones and i Know it works; maybe someone in here could tell you the name of the product.

The equation for losing weight is very simple and is the only way to lose weight and remain healthy.

Your calorie intake has to be less than what you burn off.

You can eat anything that you choose, but the calorie intake has to be less than what you burn off.

You simply cannot eat hugh amounts of food unless you exercise enough to burn the calorie intake off.

You have to be a calorie counter on intake and a calorie counter for the proper exercise for the proper amount of time to burn it off.

Simple equation but takes the will to follow the equation.

Unless one has a medical condition there is not any excuse for anyone being overweight.

I use Xenadrine EFX and it's working awesome!

FlyingIguana 08-21-2002 12:02 AM

get an excercise bike and use it while watching tv. try to increase your protein intake while either maintaining or decreasing calories.

you can try a high fat diet, should be able to find a book on it somewhere. tough diet to stay on, especially if you eat a lot. but that might be the best diet to lose 20 pounds.

Pornwolf 08-21-2002 12:03 AM

Xenadrine FX is supposed to work really well. So is Crystal Meth. They both do the same thing to your nervous system over time.

high fat?
don't you mean LOW fat? is it some sort of illogical process?

beemk 08-21-2002 12:06 AM

fuck all those weight loss pills and shit. you need to eat more meals and eat smaller meals. starving yourself will make you lose muscle and not fat. i'm sure thats not what you want. eat smaller meals and less calories and but more meals in a day and drink lots and lots and lots of water. also eat slower, your brain take 20 minutes to realize your full. you eat slower and you will eat less food before you realize you're full.

you dont need hours of exercising. try doing like 20 minutes of exercising a day. if you do what i just said i gurantee you will see improvements. anything you do to loose a lot of weight quick will just be something that will make you gain it back even quicker. any questions feel free to ask.

Seriously the key to losing weight is to eat sensibly and exercise. Walking is great and it can be done by the whole family, even swimming is great, gives you time to contenplate life and an added bonus is you don't sweat . But it will only work if you want to lose weight, determination is the name of the game.

Good luck :thumbsup

Mikeee 08-21-2002 12:09 AM

Roids. Equipoise to be exact.

klik 08-21-2002 12:09 AM

Come on over to my house!

It's so fuckin hot here its like a sauna..

I sweat off probably 2000 calories an hour.. so I struggle to get fat every day.

I'm almost 6'2 and probably weigh less than 160 lbs :(

PersianKitty 08-21-2002 12:22 AM

It's amazing how many calories you can consume without even thinking about it. Once you make yourself conscious of the calorie intake it makes things simplier.

There's a site online http://www.fitday.com/ where you can keep track of the calories. It includes info on how many calories you burn based on your lifestyle, age, height, weight, etc. So if for example, on a typical day you burn approximately 3,500 calories. Drop your intake to 2,000 calories a day and you can lose 3 lbs a week.

Swimming is the best single excercise routine that one can adopt.

eat to live instead of...... living to eat :thumbsup

pauly 08-21-2002 12:44 AM

This fat bitch that lives with me and my girlfriend lost like 30 pounds in a month by eating watermellon and cottage cheese. I think she can eat red meat like twice a week. No bread or anything else. Personally I dont think I could survive on watermellon and cottate cheese. ugh.

The body stores carbohydrates in muscle. It uses the carbs first for quick energy. When a diet consists of an extremely low amount of carbs (under 30 grams a day), it begins using stored fat as it's primary energy source. No carb load in muscle tissue means a reduction in strength and energy. The body burns carbs more efficiently. Extended length high fat diets (like the Adkins diet) can lead to all sorts of health issues.

And if your having sex 5 times a day with 5 different women you'll never have time to eat ;)

Bree 08-21-2002 01:27 AM

lo fat, lo sugar, lo carbs, more color

also try the American Diabetes Association's diet...
it's a simple food exchange.. easy to follow.

Those low fat foods are no good if they are high carbs/sugar....

had to edit to agree with.....

more sex is absolutely the best way to lose weight

in fact, more sex is prolly the best way to do anything :thumbsup :thumbsup

The Zone Diet

Pick up a copy of "A Week in the Zone" by Dr. Barry Sears.

He has a website with all kinds of useful info as well - can't remember the url but easy to find.

Tons of food! Great for blood sugar levels, blood pressure, etc.

I know that Xenadrine can help you lose some weight quick. You should take a little less than what it tells you. Make sure to eat fresh fruits and veggies, and you will lose a fuckload of weight. Flushing straight fat out of your body. With some sit ups and push ups everyday before your shower. My best advice to you

Amphetamines and lots of water.

:thumbsup

Juge 08-21-2002 04:16 AM

if you are not exercising anymore, and still eating the same amount, then you are overeating.

the best way is be properly fit is to eat properly, and exercise. dont miss breakfast. you'll just decrease your metabolism, and the fat will be stored more, since your body thinks it is being starved.

HomeGrown 08-21-2002 04:26 AM

I used to run on my treadmill for 20 mins a day. I lost 20 lbs in 2 months. I was also working out for 1 hour a day. Also, the older you are the harder it is to lose weight. :2 cents:

YES! Swimming is fun, too, once you learn it. (Compared to jogging).

I'm like a new man, after I started swimming some time ago. Now one hour a day regularly.
Less stress, more productive work... Not to mention how it affects health and fitness :)

gothweb 08-21-2002 05:14 AM

My advice...

- Drink lots of water
- Watch the calories
- Cut way down on carbs
- Three meals a day, don't skip meals
- Keep your caffeine intake up
- Get as much exercise as you have time for

It is a lot easier to adopt than those modern super-diets, and a lot more effective than doing nothing...

Lane 08-21-2002 06:06 AM

if i go swimming now, i feel like im not gonna burn any calories, because until last year i was swimming about 8-10 miles per day average, 6 days of the week... now i wouldnt even wanna go more than a mile...

i have been thinking about doing weight lifting, still couldnt get myself into any schedule... if i can get some more muscle weight, i believe my body will burn more calories a day.. maybe that could help..

i was also wondering if there is any diet where the calorie intake is not really lower than what you burn, but you still lose weight.. i hear stories about that.. a friend told me he lost over 50 pounds in 3 months by doing a protein diet.. he would eat like 8-10 sausages for breakfast.. and a full chicked for lunch or dinner...

wow, I guess swimming was a serious sport for you instead of just a hobby.

gym is a very good option, it burns calories quickly, especially if you exercise with lighter weights but more repetitions and series.. That burns fat. Heavier weights, less repetitions produces more muscle, doesnt necessarily use as much calories.

JFPdude 08-21-2002 06:17 AM

Lane,

Over the past year I have lost 100 pounds. Being a webmaster this was not an easy task. But here are the steps I took to do it.

1. Eat 3 meals a day. Normal meals like you eat now. Don't shock your body with meals your not currently eating.

2. For snacks I have put a refridgerator in my computer room. I have a hot air popcorn maker above it. Plain popcorn although doesn't taste as good as with butter and salt has 0 calories and tricks your body into thinking it's full. Also in my fridge I keep fruits with vitamin C like oranges and tangerines. Thats my snack of choice now. Vitamin C is a good fat burner.

3. An Excercycle. I use this thing twice a day for 15 minutes each.

Good Luck Man.

It's working for me :thumbsup
