Somebody PLEASE tell him that Raquetball will do the thing ! :1orglaugh I've been pushing Lane into RB for a year now, be ever since he got a ball straight in his face, he pussed out.

I still believe that you *could* easily lose some serious poundage swimming 2-3km a day. You know yourself how much time it takes, it's healthy and you don't have The WaD yelling at you :)

i have been thinking about doing weight lifting, still couldnt get myself into any schedule... if i can get some more muscle weight, i believe my body will burn more calories a day.. maybe that could help..

i was also wondering if there is any diet where the calorie intake is not really lower than what you burn, but you still lose weight.. i hear stories about that.. a friend told me he lost over 50 pounds in 3 months by doing a protein diet.. he would eat like 8-10 sausages for breakfast.. and a full chicked for lunch or dinner...

There are different ways to lose weight, and ways to lose weight fast, but only one correct way to lose weight and remain healthy and keep the weight off.

Your calorie intake has to be less than what you burn.

Eat whatever you like (in a healthy sense vegetables, fruits, protein etc.), but you must become a calorie counter.

Most Americans consume more than 3,000 calories per day and are not into excersise. Go to any public place and look around you and you see the result.

Chop your legs off. Instant weight loss, no starvation, you're good to go.

Bree 08-21-2002 06:37 AM

oh BTW, I've lost 40 lbs just doing what I said above..

more color = red meat and veggies

I don't how effective this is, but a friend of mine swears by the "Fit for Life" program.

read "fit for life" or any book on natural hygeine.

eat only fruit in the morning. as much as you can. eat a huge salad every day at lunchtime; eat until you have no appetite. boil frozen soybeans in the pod. don't eat right before you go to sleep. and get *some* exercise every day. if you don't, you just decompose. it's like living in space too long.

When a diet consists of an extremely low amount of carbs (under 30 grams a day), it begins using stored fat as it's primary energy source. No carb load in muscle tissue means a reduction in strength and energy. The body burns carbs more efficiently. Extended length high fat diets (like the Adkins diet) can lead to all sorts of health issues.

yup i wouldn't use it as a long term diet, but if you want to drop weight fast, this could be the best option other than drugs.

Lane,

Run dood! that's all I can say. Run as much as you can. 2.5 to 3 miles per day 4 to 5 times a week if you can, abs workout, and drink a lot of water... that's it.

I actually learned this from Dan Majerle, NBA player with the phoenix suns back then. and it's been working for me.

getting into the habit of running could be tough, but once you master breathing (which I know you can as a swimmer), you can run the 3 miles no prob. you will notice hella difference after 60 days on your weight an energy level.

Don't cut down on carbs, you still energy and stamina, instead cut down on sugar.. and for snacks, while you coding, get like a bowl of grapes, and a glass of water.

btw, have you ever tried KIMONOS condoms? ultra thin latex based condoms (non latex like NaturalLamb only protects against pregnancy, not STDs). Hella sensation doo, better than whatever i've been using so far.

Get yourself a fucking machine. It really works, I became new man with this stuff. No diet or crap pills. Few min exercise per day will do the trick.

Big "Zone" fan here! Also way into the yoga thing. gets you into great shape, plus the flexability helps out in the sack :)

Beastiepoo 08-21-2002 03:26 PM

You've had a lot of advice from a lot of people here and all I can add is this:

Different schemes work for different people. My boss has just cut out extra snacking, no added exercise or stict diet. She's lost an average of a pound a week this way. You WERE a very active person which probably means that you'd have to be fairly active in addition to eating sensibly to lose weight. I know in the webmaster business it is difficult to get much exercise. My hubby used to lift weights and get general exercise and now he's been webmastering for a while he doesn't get the exercise and has put on weight.

Myself, I would ideally like to take a Yoga class and then swim/sauna for an hour afterward 3-4 times a week. Be good way to start the day. Unfortunately at the moment I'm still stuck in a 9 to 5 and webmastering in my free time. This leaves little time for exercise.

Lastly, I must say that I really liked the way doing a weight program strengthened me and helped me lose weight BUT found it incredibly boring.

I'm sure you know most of what has been said having been athletic in the past. Basically eat less than you burn off in a day and eventually you'll lose weight. It'll take you ages, but it will go.

hahmike 08-21-2002 03:34 PM

hahahaaa, too funny soul rebel. the only disadvantage is that is ass wreck.

just like many gay guys as they reach old age, too much anal pounding means you'll have to start wearing tampons up your ass :(

XXXManager 08-21-2002 03:36 PM

Well Lane..
I can forward you all the emails I get about how to loose weight I get to my hotmail account ;)
Just ask bro..

kosmic 08-21-2002 03:39 PM

Hunger is often mistaken for thirst. When you feel hungry drink a full glass of water. I never have been on a diet myself, other than trying to gain weight. But I do stay in good shape, and water is very key for me. Lots of water :glugglug

kosmic 08-21-2002 03:40 PM

oops it submitted twice

beerbust03 08-21-2002 04:52 PM

Why don't you try Hydroxycut. It's some good shit. It also has less side effects than Xenadrine. Both are cool, but Xenadrine makes you crazy. Drink lots of water with it though. You really don't have to exercise on it, unless your just anal.

If your really desperate, Crystal works too.

ATKINS. I've been on >10 grams of carbs per day for 3 weeks and have lost 24 pounds. I'm a Type 2 diabetic, and was taking 2000 mg of Glucophage per day. By day 5 of Atkins, I was able to stop taking the Gluc - with my doctors blessing. My blood and u tests all came back normal. I still monitor my blood 3 times a day and I haven't had a reading over 123 (2 hours after eating). When diagnosed 2 years ago, my fasting blood glucose was 444, I was sick as hell.

I was really tired the second and third day, but since day 4 I have more energy than I had before. I also get up now at 5 am to put in a half hour at the local rec center. Get the newest Atkins book (2002) and read it cover to cover. My doctor didn't dispute a word of it, he told me to keep up the good work and come back in 6 months.

Good Luck!

I lost approximately 100lbs nearly two years, and I've managed to keep most of it off. I'll tell you a formula that is generally accepted by nutritionists and should help you in your quest to lose weight. Take your weight, multiply that number by 10, and you have the amount of calories you need to consume daily to maintain your weight. For instance, if you weigh 200lbs, then you would need to consume 2000 calories in a day to maintain your weight. Simply put, if you consume less than that per day your weight will go down. Also, any calories burned during exercise will reduce that number. It really boils down to a number's game. I actually ate a lot of Subway, and for as dumb as the ads are, the subs are super low cal and can be helpful. Good luck.
