All that masturbating takes its toll (do it enough and it will make you blind).

Good luck and be sure to post pix of you with a patch over your eye...

Dam bro! that's crazy I hope everything goes well, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

aico 03-08-2007 08:11 PM

Are you not eligible for Laser Eye Surgery? Why are you having a lens implanted?

DirtyDreamer 03-08-2007 08:11 PM

Good luck, Steve. I had cataract surgery a few years ago or go blind. I'm very glad that I did even though I wear bifocals to read and watch tv now.

Don't worry at all. My wife had it done last September. She had the bandage removed that very afternoon and could see brilliantly. She then took antibiotics for a week and antibiotic drops for 2 (to ward off infection). She also had to sleep with a patch over the eye for 2 weeks. Other than that it was smoother that I had imagined it would be.
She did ask for a general anaesthetic, thoug it seems most do it under a deep local.
She's getting her other eye done next month...she has cataracts too.

Cataracts cannot be removed with a laser, only through a surgical incision. There are laser devices for cataract removal under investigation, but none are approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Oh duh, for some reason I was confusing cataracts with astigmatism.

Well, good luck.

J. Falcon 03-08-2007 08:24 PM

Good luck

Mutt 03-08-2007 08:28 PM

good luck. you wear contacts?

my sister has a cataract - depressed me more than her, all i could think was 'fuck, a cataract? we're all getting old!' not sure if hers is age related or yours is - think there are other reasons for developing cataracts other than just getting older.

i hope you were unconscious when they rescued you cuz the rescue looks scarier to me than a fall. Did you ever meet the rescuers after you recovered? Sounds like the chopper pilot saved your life.

CaroMark 03-08-2007 08:56 PM

God speed and a quick recovery with that!:winkwink:

I was in and out. I do remember being lifted out though.

Mutt 03-08-2007 09:04 PM

ahahahah - i was just thinking, at the time these rescue workers and doctors were trying to save two young guys' lives thinking 'they're young, they have so much life ahead of them, so much potential, dammit we have to save them!' I wonder if they knew one of them would fulfill his potential peeping up 18 year old girls skirts if they would have tried a little less harder! :1orglaugh

oooh, eye surgery sux... I had to have it 3 yrs ago for a partially disconnected retina... just happened one day with no warning. Shit sucked... especially the bill, but eyes do recover pretty quickly. :)

mikeyddddd 03-08-2007 09:36 PM

Best wishes. I'm a puss and can't handle anything getting close to my eyes.

gimilin 03-08-2007 09:52 PM

lens implating is a newer and safer technology. They don´t cut your corneea, only make a small hole in your iris.

Good luck, Steve!
