Don't worry at all. My wife had it done last September. She had the bandage removed that very afternoon and could see brilliantly. She then took antibiotics for a week and antibiotic drops for 2 (to ward off infection). She also had to sleep with a patch over the eye for 2 weeks. Other than that it was smoother that I had imagined it would be.
She did ask for a general anaesthetic, thoug it seems most do it under a deep local.

oooh, eye surgery sux... I had to have it 3 yrs ago for a partially disconnected retina... just happened one day with no warning. Shit sucked... especially the bill, but eyes do recover pretty quickly.
