i was just wondering, why do 95% of the listings on thehun look like complete peices of shit? (the design)

i mean COMEON

your paying X,XXX$ to get in the top twenty and you cant be bothered to throw up a decent looking page?

the only reason i can think of why everyone has shitty layouts is either, their simply lazy...too busy or using a layout like that actually captures the attention of the surfer more because its not professional?

thehun likes galleries like that, he dosnt like anything fancy, and i find basic converts, i just put color bg, banner on top pics then text link on bottom, when little april first came out i did 28 sales on my hun listing.

nothing wrong with a simple gallery design...

simple can be better for sales than a HQ state of the art (including coffe/tea) template :)

I think the only person that wants a graphically nice looking template is the webmaster - surfers want to beat themselves off over the content so don't give em enough to blow their load :)

yeah I submitted my first ever gallery to the hun and it got posted... and gaaawd it was awful! Fuck knows why it was allowed on there..
But it made sales!
The traffic crashed my website too hahaha :/

Look at the big TGPs. By that I mean those with the traffic. 89.com, thehun, xnxx, pichunter, shemp and so on. You see a lot of galleries with banner - thumbs - textlink - 2257... Not saying you don't find some " designed" layouts, but for the most part they all seem to carry a lot of "simple" galleries.

I thought the fancy layouts would make my sites "sticky" and thus productivity would go up. When it comes to gallery design, spending hours on a gallery doesn't equal a better conversion rate. The verbiage and content seem to make more of the impact. It's that key to get the surfer to click to the tour that counts or decide to join before he or she gets there.

Couple other points. More traffic doesn't have to mean more sales. More trips to a tour doesn't have to mean more sales either. Trips to the tour does means you have a chance at a sale. Old galleries can work as well as new ones. I don't think worn-out galleries work through.

I also THINK that if a surfer is NOT buying within the first several clicks, he's just collecting free stuff to jerk off too? Still trying to figure if that is absolutely true as a generalization. A surfer may comeback a few or more times times before buying. Esp trues of cam and dating sites.

Because you have these thoughts, you probably have to post 100 posts a day on GFY to make some money....

An interesting exercise.

Go to Alexa and start looking at traffic details on the big or well known sites, even the legendary. Ask your self who is making the most with the traffic they have and why.

ive always converted on simple templates.. if a surfer really wants to see more a simple text link is all they need

most huge websites look like shit - there is a lesson in that - analyize and figure out why. :2 cents:

I don't know about you, but if someone can send me a hundred thousand hits in one day, I'll pretty much do whatever they want in terms of design.

so, make shitty gallery and the hun would list it... hehe... :D

Because surfers remember the guy that fucked a watermelon and where they saw it. This is what they talk to about their friends. Trust me. They dont talk about the css they saw on a particular gallery. And even more...they wont sign up because of this.

Simple works better alot of the time because they load quicker with less graphics

If you see things working well, there is always a reason to it. Try to find out what that reason is instead of trying to impose your own short-sighted thoughts and opinions

Designers don't buy porn unfortunately. I hate the look of basic, but if it works, it works.

Simple almost always sells better. The only reason people go for the extra fancy designs is becauseit attracts affilliates and new webmasters are amazed at them.

But, if you want sales, you will probably get more with a 100% html and pics/movies only gallery.

The hun is simple yet they make millions........ The people that visit the adult site just want a clean site with no pop ups or nothing tricking them..... Thats what i learn...... Thats why i keep my sites simple and they convert....

just concentrate on great content and a solid "text hook" to get the surfer to check out the tour...
