"The Art of war", definitely is a kick ass book. Any suggestions for the next read? Need a book that I can apply to life. I am thinking "The Prince." :thumbsup

Im thoroughly enjoying a great translation of The Iliad right now, and although you cant apply it to life (unless you are about to invade Turkey), its wonderful to read the classical style its composed in.

My next one is likely to be Virgil's The Aeneid.

No, books are for people who enjoy ramming objects up their ass. Books have been known over the years to cause hemorrhoids in people as young as fifteen years of age. Maybe I would have a different view on my books if my anal virginity had not been robbed from me by a copy of Jules Verne?s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea though. After that incident happened, I realized the horrors that all books represent, especially hardbacks. ALL books have the potential to rape and kill you, but be especially wary of hardbacks.

Reading is a good escape for that. One summer I read all the Utopia / Dystopia novels I could get my hands on...for me it was interesting that even in literature someone couldn't come up with a "perfect" society in my eyes...even the authors of the books couldn't completely create perfection. A short list:

Anthem - Ayn Rand
Erewhon - Samuel Butler
Utopia - Thomas Moore
Fahrenheit 451 - Bradbury
The Republic - Plato
...then a bunch of books you probably read in highschool, Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm, etc.

It's just interesting to see what people think is the Utopia / Dystopia type society.
