Rumours are saying google are working on a google OS, how badass is that?

I for one would gladly try it out, im sure it would be better than windows vista by a longshot.

I heard about this some time ago.

Rumors is they are even going to creat their own computer, I thinks it's called google box or g box or something similar.

Who said exchanging? They can do both just fine. As long as they keep up their "garage" creative attitude im all game.

Speaking of BIG steps, I heard this company callled RedHat is going to release an OS that is going to take Microsoft down.

It's called Linus or Limbo or something like that.

According to Bill Gates back in the day, Netscape's plan was to turn their browser into a full fledged operating system to compete with Windows.

That was pretty successful huh?

They did buy a radio station or network recently didnt they?

It would logical with the 4 billion $ cash they got in hand ... the browser is definitly comming thought.

At this point it would take a Google to compete head-on with Microsoft. MS has a product offering that is very broad. Remember they have the colaboration market with Exchange. Database apps with MS-SQL. Look at the accounting industry for the smal to mid-sized firms, they own every player out there esp in accounting. The desktop and office apps belong to MS. There is Active Directory (Copied from Novell's NDS for the most part) and the list goes on and on.

ummm you are a bit way late to the rumor mill.. this rumor has been out for quite a long time..

what's next? Google making their own country?

Google should concentrate on what it knows and try to provide relevent search results. The suck at the momeny + I keep getting google server errors.

I wish they would put google earth in cars for navigation.

Google OS is NOT a stand alone operating system...

They chose the wrong name for this because everyone thinks it will be...

Google OS is a collection of utilities meant to make life easier but the average joe will only find a small percentage actually useful.

Google has the cure for AIDS.

google is a Search Engine company.. it would be impossible for them to make an OS and if they are dumb enough to actually release something like that
it would fail. Im willing to put all my money on that.

umm they have billions in cash in hand.. it IS possible to make an OS.. but i agree with you, i think it would fail.

M$ is going to own the next few years.

Old news.
The G-OS is being made because after integrating the google maps to the G-car where you could just sit in the car and write "pizza", after that it would automaticly take you to the nearest place where you can get a pizza.
The problems occurred after first testing the car with a linux OS, then the car would not accept any drivers into the car and refuse to drive, after that testing was done with windows, there the problem was that it accepted all drivers, and after a few test drives explorer stopped taking commands and started to lead you in wrong directions to eventually crash the car.

I'm kinda tired of Google. GMail is the buggiest email system I have ever seen. The search engine has the least relevant results of everyone now.

They need to fix the shit that they have before starting something else.

I heard they're working on new bathrooms that PEE FOR YOU.

I'd rather see google bot as my president, than Bill Gate$
