Alba should be grateful for the added exposure,but isn't it like those celeb rags that post celeb pics?

Well, she had already told them no...that she wouldn't pose for the cover and that she didn't want to be on it. I agree that she should be flattered that she was voted sexiest girl and has the cover but to some people that's not how the want to be represented. At the very least Playboy should have respected her right to not be on the cover and just used her pic inside the mag within the story like they had been give'n permission to do.

Sometimes big business is not about doing the right thing...it's about making big profits and keeping the shareholders happy. :(

I quite agree Dean. This is shaping up to look as though Playboy overstepped their bounds with this one.

The controversy will no doubt increase publicity for Alba - but if she genuinely didn't want to be on the cover and initially turned Playboy's offer down...then she ought to be compensated properly for whatever damage to her image is determined.

Playboy is just LIke Microsoft in that they know that they will sell way more magazince because she is on the cover than they will ever have to pay if she sues.

So let's say that she sues and her lawyers will undoubtedly tell her that you don;t want to go toe-2-toe with Playboy in court because they have staff attorneys and it will cost millions in legal fees... then Playboy makes an offer to "settle out of court for an undisclosed amount". They keep a large portion of the profits from the "bait and switch" cover issue and everyone walks away happy.

Trust me the Playboy legal team ran the numbers on this a long time before the issue went to print.

That makes her look like a whiner to me..

first playboy isnt even close to microsoft lol She has probably just as many lawyers as playboy has. Again it makes the industry looks creepy, the girl didnt want any thing to do with a adult magazine and they did it any way. Its very creepy.

i wouldnt be so sure of that - i bet her asking price fo the next film is increased not decreased because of this publicity - she doesnt exactly do disney films

Don't you think that if being on the cover of Playboy would help a career, that all the stars would want to be on the cover? Where as the opposite is true, they all try their hardest to stay off of it.

What if she does want to do a Disney movie, or a Kids movie, now that will be even harder for her, as they might not was to hire someone who has been on the cover of Playboy...

Pamela Anderson has been on the cover of Playboy more than any other person. Don't really see her getting any movie offers that don't involve her showing off her tits now do you? Pretty much every tv show she is on now too, is because she produces it...

ps. i will add - if she agreed to the deal then it would be a wash - the fact that they did it without her a-ok - and the additional media exposure - there will be industry sympathy for her situation and her $ will not be affected - in fact she will get a bonus $$ from any settlement from playboy - so its a double win-win

we can be friendly and shit but i disagree - being on the cover will enhance her 'name' and image (in part) as the premier sex symbol of america right now - cover of playboy is an honor - its probably only her mom thats bitching about it

Well then we can agree to disagree. I don't think being on the cover of Playboy is an honor. It's not that great of a magazine if you ask me.

The bottom line is, they asked, she said no, so they went to Sony got a production shot from them and used that.

She is on the cover because she was already voted as one of the sexiest girls, so her image as a premier sex symbol was already established, hence, why they put her on the cover.

I am pretty sure that if she wanted to be in Playboy, any time, day or night, she could be, they would never turn her down. The fact is that they had to go behind her back and against her wishes to get her on the cover.

the facts are that both she and playboy will make a lot more $ from this situation - rather than if it never happened..
